Vertrek

Sjans

Dear Huib, There was, in my opinion, not a Fair Useage violation when uploading the cover of the book Sjans by Annemarie Oster. I know her well and she gave me permission. Or should her publisher give permission? At any rate, she said it would be a welcome action and that her publisher would totally agree with her. It was a favour to her. I am very busy and have no time to go into any discussions with anyone over this. Graag of niet. Apart from this, it is something her publisher should have done. End of cycle. Met vriendelijke groet, Charles van der Hoog

360cities.net blocked

Hi Abigor,

I'm the founder/ceo of 360cities.net. I understand that one of our photographer members was perhaps overzealous in adding links to his georeferenced panoramic photos to many wikipedia pages / languages. Without being too verbose allow me to note - first, the Photographer in question is one of our most prolific and talented photographers, and he certainly did not mean for his link creation to be malicious, and as an individual he does not serve to profit in any material way from doing so; second, while I'm certainly biased in my perspective, nearly all of our 60,000+ panoramic images (all of them spherical and without technical errors, created by vetted, approved photographers) are of quite direct geographic interest, and provide a visualization of a place in question in a rather unique way. The closest major comparison might be google streetview, but we pride ourselves in providing far higher artisanal quality of images, as well as providing imagery from locations that are not available from other georeference immersive imaging providers (such as google streetview).

If you want to reply to me via email you can reach me at jeff at 360cities, dot, net.

I look forward to continuing this discussion.

Thank you for your time, Jeffrey Martin July 1, 2010

would you please explain? i have been trying to publish that page for a while without results and now it seems that everything is gone.

thanks for your time

Vandalismus

Lass bitte die Finger von meinen Anträgen. Danke. Weissbier (talk) 10:09, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello,
You don't own any contributions, every contribution you make is released under a free license so I'm free to edit it when I want and how I want to. Huib talk 10:17, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
Sprich Deutsch mit mir, wenn Du was willst. Ich spreche kein Englisch. Weissbier (talk) 10:25, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Danke. ;) Weissbier (talk) 10:41, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Wow, what a kindergarden. Huib, sorry, but you should know better than to remove/hide a deletion request just because you don't like it. The user was more than obviously working on the request when you simply deleted it. And now you have hidden it at the end so that visitors most likely will not see the request, thus not know that the image is in danger and not contribute to the discussion. Or was there any other reason than not wanting discussion contributions for you to put the request a few screen-scrolls down? -- Cecil (talk) 10:43, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

I reverted it the first time because it was a broken deletion nomination and I wanted to do a new one so all the pages would like together, thats much more easy than start fixing things where you didn't start it. I was already reverted so I ended up in a edit conflict.
The reason why I moved it down is simple, this file is used for promotion for Wikimedia, its linked from lots of places out side Wikimedia, I passed it once or twice myself on other sites. Visitors (read: Non Wikimedia Contributors ) doesn't need to see the drama on the file because they don't care, they come for this image and for the license so placing the deletion request below the information and license template has nothing to do with hiding, its making sure that people that don't contribute to Wikimedia see the info the need first before they see non relevant info.
And I really don't like your tone, you can ask before saying things that you think they are true. Huib talk 10:50, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
You don't need to like my tone, I don't like your behaviour. Well, and you just confirmed that you don't like the request ('drama') and simply did it for that reason. So keep up your great work of hiding everything you consider drama. Awesome. -- Cecil (talk) 10:55, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
