Pay attention to copyright
File:200 Syrian Pounds reverse side.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

it shouldn't be marked as a possible copyright violation as it is not copyrighted by any entity in Syria or outside Smint34 (talk) 23:23, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Smint34, the following content you uploaded violates one or more of our policies and therefore has been or will soon be deleted:

File:5000 Syrian Pounds reverse side.jpg

The Wikimedia Commons (this website) only hosts media files with a realistic educational purpose and that can be used for any purpose, including:
  • use in any work, regardless of content
  • creation of derivative works
  • commercial use
  • free distribution

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.

Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.

And also:

Yours sincerely, Bedivere (talk) 23:13, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Smint34.

You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful.

This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions.

i wasn't even give the time to read the messages before my files were deleted
and Syrian currency is not copyrighted so i did not violate anything Smint34 (talk) 23:19, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You've been told these are copyrighted, as per COM:CUR Syria. If you reupload these or other Syrian banknotes or coins, they will get deleted and you will be blocked. Bedivere (talk) 00:05, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
and i read the copyright law you mention and search if the central bank has copyrighted the banknotes and i have found nothing at least show me where im wrong instead of pointing me to an article that is vague and says "Syrian banknotes and coins are likely to be protected by copyright" nowhere does it explicitly say they are im just trying to understand what your problem Smint34 (talk) 00:14, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are alleging they are in the public domain. If you have an express statement from the Central Bank of Syria or a Syrian law declaring these are in the public domain, please provide it and I will promptly restore these files. Groundless allegations mean nothing and these are not getting restored because you "have found nothing". Please also read {{PD-Syria}}. If these banknotes were made in 1973 or before, they are in the public domain. The copyright term in Syria for currencies is the year of designed + 50 years + the end of the calendar year.
