Regarding categorization of images
[edit]Hello PicturElements,
Good file names and descriptions are required, but not sufficient for quality images. "Quality images shall [...] be properly categorized [...]" means there should be specific categories for the plant species (or Unidentified plants if applicable), as well as categories for the time when image was taken (season, year, etc) and location (or Location not applicable with a rationale). Images, which are not properly categorized, can be declined for QI status. But more general, the categorization guidelines apply to all media files on Commons. The rule of thumb is, that just one category (no matter how specific), is almost never enough, to properly categorize a file. --MB-one (talk) 11:05, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
- Please check Image:Trifolium Alpinum - Alpine Flora.jpg as an example of proper categorization. --MB-one (talk) 11:13, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
