Deletion nomination
[edit]Hello, Weindan! Further to my comment on the nomination page, I believe your intended target was File:Dr. Emily Blackwell, ca. 1860s.jpg. Assuming the subject & photographer are identified in the book, please edit the description page, adding the source information. (Is the photo itself dated there?) Then you can either add a move request to change the filename, or ping me and I can take care of that part. With a view to categorization, is she this Elizabeth Blackwell? Well done finding the source!—Odysseus1479 (talk) 01:27, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, she is the Elizabeth Blackwell (1821-1910) your link points to. I just uploaded photos of the book's title page. the tipped in albumen photograph by Ernest Edwards and the brief biography which accompanies the photo in the book. The URL for these images is https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMekvPLQt8YKzmZlDPSRFuf-kx3xf4e0Lue7FfPXELg85uTuIFHzxJxROXvxdTWTw?key=aGZuQmtxc3NpWFV2cGN3eTdaNmYxcm4xVXpMUURB . Can you amend the Wikimedia entry? This error has been replicated several times on the web. It seems to have originated with an Emily ID on Getty Images, then picked up as such by Britannica, and finally was on (at least) a couple of Wikipedia pages. - Looking up the photographer here I happened upon File:Portret van Elizabeth Blackwell, RP-F-2001-7-349-63.jpg from an 1864 edition of the book, which pushes back the terminus ante quem a bit. I can indeed edit the file description on the pic in question and move it. Please see these instructions if you find a similar case in future; correctable errors don’t warrant deletion. Blatant hoaxes, however, can be tagged for speedy deletion per COM:CSD.—Odysseus1479 (talk) 06:29, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
