Inspiration

As active members of an NGO, we often found ourselves relying on WhatsApp to coordinate event participation. The endless back-and-forth calls, the uncertainty of confirmations, and the constant need to chase after responses made the entire process chaotic. Such situations made us wonder if there was a more efficient and streamlined way to bring our community together and ensure seamless event coordination. This inspired us to build Connect Sphere, an application that connects communities by bringing people together for impactful and harmonious experiences. Through this application, we aim to make the entire process of hosting and joining events a seamless, streamlined, and hassle-free experience.

What Connect Sphere does

Connect Sphere helps users to create and manage communities and events effortlessly. All the users are first authenticated using their Google accounts. Users can join a community by simply entering the unique ID associated with it or by accepting an invite link sent by a member of the community. The application features an event timeline that promotes seamless planning and viewing of all scheduled events. With its user-friendly interface, Connect Sphere ensures that everyone can effortlessly engage and contribute, fostering a more cohesive and active community.

Connect Sphere was built using Flutter and Firebase

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring changes across the application when data was edited by the user.
Changes needed to persist even after the application was restarted.
Handling changes when the user edits their profile.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the progress we've made on this application, especially considering the limited timeframe of the hackathon. We have also stepped outside of our comfort zones thereby gaining valuable new skills.
