Next buy I pick up a few BU coins, the ones that come straight from an unopened roll.So I take these BU coins and stick them next to my curculated coins (cleaned with steelwood and bang up pretty bad).Low and behold the circulated coins have more detail then the BU coins. When I get a coin that comes from a BU roll that has never seen the light of day,it's mirror like fields as beautiful as one just released from the mint and then when trying to grade it realize that having been in the roll for so long, changing hands countless times, coin against coin, has in fact changed these coins into very circulated(Theres a new one VC,very circulated).

    Hiya,
When I go thru BU rolls I find these Spaghetti-like scratches on some of the coins. I want to describe these marks as "distressed areas" on the fields--as if the metal flow during the striking process produced them.
I just received some mint sets from philadelphia and noticed the spaghetti effect on the Michigan quarter. What gives?

Brilliant Uncirculated coins? Are theses rolled colled coins from the bank and US Mint. Can BU's be loose coins too? How does one know what a BU is it's a loose coin?
