उत्थान

Hindi
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Most likely a learned borrowing from Sanskrit उत्थान (utthāna), but may also have been inherited through Prakrit [Term?] 𑀉𑀢𑁆𑀣𑀸𑀡 (utthāṇa). Derivation from उत्- (ut-, “above, upwards”) + थान (thān, “place”) is less likely because of the usage of the suffix उत्- (ut-) mostly being restricted to Sanskrit loans.
