Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀮𑀕𑁆𑀕𑀤𑀺 (laggadi), from Sanskrit लग्यति (lagyati). Cognate with Nepali लाग्नु (lāgnu), Punjabi ਲੱਗਣਾ (laggaṇā), Gujarati લાગવું (lāgvũ), Marathi लागणे (lāgṇe), Assamese লগা (loga).

    मुझे लगता है कि आज बारिश होगी।
    mujhe lagtā hai ki āj bāriś hogī.

  2. to be perceived
    मैं कैसी लग रही हूँ?
    ma͠i kaisī lag rahī hū̃?
    How do I look [to you]?
  3. to be hit, shoved
    चोट लगनाcoṭ lagnāto get hurt

  4. to affix, apply
