2010 Georgia state elections

Federal

United States Congress

During the 2010 Congressional elections, Georgia's Class III Senate seat and all thirteen House seats will up for election.

United States Senate

Senator Johnny Isakson (R) will be seeking re-election. He will be opposed by Democratic candidates R.J. Hadley and Commissioner of Labor Mike Thurmond.

United States House of Representatives

Eleven of the thirteen members of Georgia's House delegation will be seeking re-election. Going into the elections, Republicans hold seven of Georgia's U.S. House seats while Democrats have six seats.

Five races that will be notable include the races in the Fourth (more specifically the Democratic Primary), Seventh, Ninth (more specifically the Republican Primaries), Eighth, and Twelfth districts. In addition, there will be a special election in the Ninth congressional district due to Nathan Deal's resignation to focus on his campaign for Governor.

Other Statewide Executive Officers

Other State Executive Officer positions that will be on the ballot include Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State School Superintendent, Commissioner of Insurance, Commissioner of Agriculture, Commissioner of Labor, and a seat on the Georgia Public Service Commission.

Judiciary

One seat on the Supreme Court of Georgia and five on the Georgia Court of Appeals will be up for election.[1] All judicial elections in Georgia are officially non-partisan.
