Myron Brown

Julian Myron Brown (born November 3, 1969 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania to Lonnie B. Brown and Lillian A. Jones) is a retired American basketball player, formerly in the NBA and the Italian basketball league. At 6'3" (1.90 m) and 180 lb (82 kg), he played as a shooting guard.

College

After a stellar high school career at Sto-Rox Jr./Sr. High, where he was overlooked by most of the major colleges and universities in the Tri-State area, Brown went on to become a four year starter (1987/88-1990/91) for the Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. In his four years at Slippery Rock, Brown was a four year All American and became Slippery Rock's all time leading scorer.

NBA

Brown was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2nd round (34th pick overall) of the 1991 NBA Draft. He played in the NBA for only one season (1991/92), for the Timberwolves in 4 games. Even though his career in the NBA was brief. Brown was nominated for dunk of the week on NBA Inside Stuff with Ahmad Rashad.

CBA

Brown was picked up by the CBA's Fort Wayne Fury when he was released by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1991/1992 season. During Brown's stint with the Fury (1991-1997) he won two dunk contests in 91/92 and 93/94. Brown was the first player in CBA history to win the title twice. He also made an appearance in the 96/97 CBA All-Star game. It was Brown's first selection to the All Star team where he scored 10 points in the game.
