Masahiro Takashima (高嶋政宏, Takashima Masahiro, born October 29, 1965 -) is a Japanese actor from Tokyo.

Career

Family

Takashima's family are all actors and actress. His father is Tadao Takashima, mother is Hanayo Sumi and younger brother is Masanobu Takashima.

Rock addict

Takashima is well-known for rock music addict, especially progressive rock. He has been loving rock since he has been a fan of American rock band Kiss. He appeared in Japanese music show Rock Fujiyama in 2006 and 2007, he told about his favorite British band King Crimson enthusiastically. Many people didn't know that he loved rock music until before appearing in this program. However, he didn't only get famous for rock otaku and he was also asked to write King Crimson's compilation album liner notes after first Rock Fujiyama appearance.

He has released singles and albums as a singer from 1992 to 1994. He covered King Crimson song "Starless" in B-side of his 1993 single called "Kowarerukurai Dakishimetai" (こわれるくらい抱きしめたい). In Rock Fujiyama, he was nicknamed "Starless Takashima" (スターレス高嶋) because of King Crimson enthusiast and he also called himself the nickname.

The music that he is familiar with is not only progressive music. He loves rock musicians such as Kiss, Grand Funk Railroad, Thin Lizzy and Sex Pistols etc. When he showed very rare goods of Kiss on TV, he amazed the same Kiss enthusiast with him Marty Friedman of ex-Megadeth.[1][2][3]
