Personal life

Moshiri, also known as Moshi, graduated from University College London in 2000 with a BA in Italian.[2]

She reports under her maiden name: she is married to Jonathan Farmer, Latin American Newsletters Editor,[3]. They have three children.[3]

Her sister, Nazanine Moshiri, is also a television broadcaster and has worked as a newsreader and reporter on ITV's London Tonight and the ITV Morning News before moving to the London office of Al Jazeera English. She is now Africa correspondent with Al Jazeera English.

Both Maryam and Nazanine were born in Tehran, and came to London with their parents before the Iranian Revolution. Her youngest sister Marjan Moshiri was born in London and is a Doctor, currently working at St Thomas’ Hospital.[citation needed]
