Mosina H. Jordan
Mosina H. Jordan is an African American woman ambassador from New York with a 25 year career in US foreign service. Jordan served at the U.S. Agency for International Development as Counselor-the third ranking position at the Agency, until April 25th, 2008. She was as ombudsman for career employees at the United States Agency for International Development, a senior career officer position, advising the Administrator and other senior staff on a wide range of policy, operational, and management issues. At her retirement ceremony at USAID headquarters on April 25, Jordan said she began her lifelong career in public service to those in need in the 1960s as a social worker in New York City. [1]
Jordan, a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Minister-Counselor, had been confirmed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Central African Republic on June 26th, 1995.[2]
