Choi Min-hwan (Korean최민환; Hanja崔敏煥; Japanese:チェ•ミンファン born November 11, 1992[1]) is a South Korean musician and actor. He is a member of rock band F.T. Island, where he serves as the drummer, sub vocalist, lyricist, and composer. He is the youngest member of the group.

In January 2009, members Choi Jong-hoon, Choi Min-hwan, and Lee Jae-jin were put into the sub group "A3". This group debuted at the 2009 New Year concert "My First Dream" held at the JCB Hall in Tokyo, Japan on January 2, 2009. Minhwan performed as the drummer and a sub-vocalist. The group's name was "A3" due to each of the three members having type A blood. This group was formed to help take up some singing time during their concerts, so that lead singer, Lee Hongki, would not overstrain his voice.

In late 2009, the triple-member group was renamed F.T. Triple and began working with Choi Min-hwan as Drummer and sub vocalist. They released the single "Love Letter" and began performing on music shows. During this time, F.T. Island's main vocalist Lee Hongki was busy filming a drama and guitarist Song Seung Hyun was involved in several variety shows.

Acting career

Choi Min-Hwan debuted in acting on 2009 in the KBS TV drama "The Road Home (집으로 가는 길)" as Han Joo Ho.On March 23, 2009, he collapsed while waiting to film this drama. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment and discharged the next day. Minhwan had been suffering from a cold and overwork.[2]

He also did a cameo in Style [Ep6] (SBS, 2009)[3] and On Air (SBS, 2008).

In 2012 Choi Min-Hwan was casted for the main role for 'Gwanghwamun Sonata' Musical.Choi Min-Hwan has been casted as the main character of the musical, Jiyong. The character plays the role of a music director and singer that has a bright personality. He began his role on November 10 in Osaka and continue on until January 2013 in Tokyo.

In June 2013, Choi Minhwan joined the cast of 'Goong' Musical in Japan and he plays the character Prince Lee Shin.[4]
