Clarke City was a region of Québec located roughly thirty kilometers west of Sept-Îles, near Route 138. The name of the town originated from the Clarke brothers which established a paper mill there in 1901 and a hydroelectric factory in 1908. The village was officially founded in 1908.

Clarke City was later amalgamated into the city of Sept-Îles.
