Courage: Eight Portraits is a book by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown about eight individuals whose very different lives he describes to explore the concept of courage. It was published on 4 June 2007, shortly before Brown became Prime Minister.

The eight subjects of the book are: Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Edith Cavell, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Cicely Saunders, Aung San Suu Kyi and Raoul Wallenberg.[1]
