Global Frequency is a series of comic books by Warren Ellis, in the genre of "Rescue Fiction." Each issue is self-contained, meaning they can be read in any order. Currently there are 12 issues, with a possible second series yet to come.

In the fictional work Global Frequency is an active smartmob consisting of 1001 people organized through advanced cellphones who respond to global emergencies and phenomena ranging from Heaven's Gate-esque cults to rogue military operations. They are led by a woman acting under the pseudonym Miranda Zero, and dispatched/coordinated by a former student named Aleph.

Mark Burnett is preparing a Global Frequency television series for 2005 with Michelle Forbes as Miranda Zero, Josh Hopkins as Sean, Jenni Baird as Dr. Finch and Aimee Garcia as Aleph. A pilot episode was created but WB, the original intended network, did not pick up the series. The unaired pilot for the show has leaked onto the internet, primarily via BitTorrent, and its popularity has led some to speculate that there may yet be a small chance for the show to continue. However, according to Ellis on his mailing list, the hostility that the network executives have towards P2P networks has apparently ended all chances for a pick up.
