Ibrahim Shoukry

Ibrahim Shoukry (1916 - 2008) was an Egyptian politician. Born in 1916 in Cairo, Dakahlia, Egypt to a wealthy well-reputed Egyptian family, son of Mahmoud Pasha Shoukry.

Graduated from Faculty of Agriculture 1939, Cairo University taking his duty to help farmers in more efficient and modernized farming methods.

Fought against the British invasion of Egypt and was named the alive martyr "Al Shaheed Al Hay" as he was wounded among other friends who were killed in the strike against the British invasion, as well he was prisoned a couple of times for his articles against the king of Egypt.

Member of parliament several times. Governor of Al Wadi Al Gadeed. Minister of Agriculture until resigned to make the opposition Labour Party.

Established Socialist Labour Party "Hezb Al Amal" 1978.

Ibrahim Shoukry died on the 5th of August 2008 at an age of 92.
