In fact, Malaya was never a British Colony (small parts were) because ultimate rule remained with the various Sultans and the administration agreements with the Sultans were closely followed in the original Constitution when the country of Malaya was formed in 1957 not by independence but by the creation of a nation. undo Tag: Visual edit
