Puss in Boots or Puss in Boots: Story of an Ogre Killer is an upcoming animated adventure film directed by Chris Miller (who helped animated and directed Shrek the Third) and is written by Brian Lynch, David Steinberg, Tom Wheeler and Jon Zack. It stars Antonio Banderas as the main character, reprising his role as Puss in Boots, respectively. It is set for release on November 4th, 2011.
Plot
The film follows Puss in Boots (One of the most beloved characters of the Shrek Universe) as he tells the hilarious and courageous (daring, bold, brave) tale of his (Antonio Banderas) early adventures as he teams with mastermind, Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and the street-savvy Kitty (Salma Hayek) to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs that could make Puss and his counterparts rich...
Production
The film will be the first 3-D film DreamWorks Animation has released since Monsters vs. Aliens in 2009. So far, it is unknown if any of the characters from the Shrek film series will appear.
DreamWorks Animation originally planned to release it as a direct-to-video movie, but this was later changed in favor of a release in theaters. It is considered to be a spin-off of Shrek 2.
