Platyceratidae is an extinct family of Paleozoic gastropods of uncertain position in the clade Neritimorpha (according to the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005). Platyceras and other platyceratid gastropods are known for the complex symbiotic relationships they had with crinoids (Baumiller, 2003).
This is the only family in the superfamily Platyceratoidea.
