Q and Not U
Q and Not U are a post-punk band out of D.C., and currently signed to Dischord Records. The members include John Davis on drums, Harris Klahr on guitar and synthesiser, Christopher Richards on bass, guitar, and synthesiser, and all three sharing vocal responsibilities. They formed in the summer of 1998 with former member Matt Borlik, and began playing shows in November of 1998. They released the "Hot and Informed" single in April of 2000, engineered and produced by Ian MacKaye and Don Zientara. They later released "No Kill No Beep Beep", but shortly after touring, Borlik left the lineup in late 2001.
The band saw this as an opportunity for growth and refocussed their efforts. The result was "Different Damage", released in fall of 2002. The band toured extensively following the release, making their way through the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Japan.
Their third and latest album, "Power" was recorded in June of 2004, and released in October of 2004. The band continues to tour and enjoy a growing fanbase.
