This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Antandrus (talk | contribs) at 01:54, 12 May 2006 (moved Roussel Uclaf covered in toucan waste to Roussel Uclaf: revert). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Roussel Uclaf is a French company, headquartered in Romainville. They are involved in healthcare, agro-chemical, animal health and related fields, although in 1994, many of their non-core activities were transferred to Hoechst Schering AgrEvo GmBH in Germany.

Although it has more than 10,000 patents worldwide, Roussel Uclaf is best known for mifepristone, otherwise known by its laboratory name of Compound 486. The US patent rights for this drug were donated to Population Council, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation in the USA, in 1994.
