San Giovanni is an interchange underground station on Line A of the Rome Metro opened in 1980. On the 12th of May 2018 it opened as a station also of Line C.[1] The station is located in Piazzale Appio at the beginning of Via Appia Nuova, beside the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano, from which the station takes its name.
