Saturday Night Live had it's 11th season during the 1985-1986 season line-up on NBC. Saturday Night Live reached it's climax of the hard times when it got canceled over the summer of 1985. But Lorne Michaels stepped back up to the plate to be executive producer, after a 5 year absence, and begged NBC to bring the show back for season 11 so he could prove that he could revive the show. They granted season 11 for Saturday Night Live and Lorne figured out over the season that the problem with the show was the cast. The ratings raised slightly over season 11, but it was not good enough for Lorne. Lorne new he had to get a new cast together for season 12. The season started on November 9, 1985 and ended on May 24, 1986.
