This entire article is a mess

First, it mentions Andrade, but doesn't say who he is, just that she was going to care for him during his cancer battle, then it talks about her early career, then it talks about her post arrest career, leaving a huge timeline gap between 1996 and 2004 with no explanation. Then it goes on to talk about the arrest after talking about the post arrest career. This entire thing is a trainwreck. I'd rewrite it myself but someone who is a fan should do it so they can get everything correct. date of birth

I added a date of birth, Feb. 15, 1970, but then I came across this, apparently a direct quote, in which she says Jan. 15, 1968. So I'm removing the first date. But problem is, the second date can be found nowhere else on Google, so I suppose the paper could've gotten the quote wrong or something. Anybody got any light to shed on the subject? Hey, somebody has added back that date of birth. Well, I don't know which is right. Personally I'd rather err on the side of caution. Everyking 07:35, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I DID NOT COPY this article and paste it here. Everyone that knows me knows Im a hard, honest worker. I tried to go to the possible copyright violations list page and the article wasnt listed. Can someone please take out the big C- posted in the article? Remember, a lot of websites copy from us. The one that the user says I took it from, actually says the article is borrowed from Wikimedia!.

Thanks and God bless you! Sincerely yours, Antonio Diana Taurasi Martin

That's true, I totally missed the line giving credit to the Wiki. Since I am the one who called for a copyvio revision, I'll restore the article and rm from the list. Ruiz 15:22, August 12, 2005 (UTC)

Whoever wrote this article needs a serious refresher course, or maybe even a primary course, in spelling, English grammar and syntax, and punctuation. The article on Gloria Trevi is rife with errors in every one of these categories. One example is the use of "stand point" where "stand" is wanted. Another is the following sentence: "At that point of her career, it became common for many little girls and teenaged females to dress like Gloria's concert attire." People dress like other people, not like their attire. Better to have written something such as: "At that point in her career, her concert attire was being adopted by many young girls." In addition, a course in basic Spanish for the article's author wouldn't hurt either: Since when does "Zapatos Viejos" (translated extensively elsewhere as "Old Shoes") mean "MY Old shoes"? And "Boquitas Pintadas" is clearly better translated as "Little Painted Mouths," meaning mouths painted with lipstick. I've read many Wikipedia articles, and most have been well written. This article is a near-illiterate exception.

gloria's mother

i read on your article that you said that Gloria did not have money or food when she was a child actually her mother was born very rich and after couple divorces she has became even more richer and she left her home because she want to study music at age 15 not twelve at that age is when they met Andrade in televisa

Pregnancy

From what I remember, the pregancy scandal was that Andrade and Trevi were prisoners at the time of conception, wasn't it? The article should make clear when they were imprisoned and when the boy was born.

you are right, they actually come from a wealthy family. the "poor" card was actually played by many artists, and it still is. many artists claimed to be very poor and claimed to have held jobs like selling tacos or food on the streets, cleaning cars, playing music on sidewalks and on buses. Although many were poor, most of them embelished, theur misery. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chavezmr (talkcontribs) 00:41, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

alleged child molester and slave master.

the also controversial manager Sergio Andrade, alleged child molester and slave master.

Was Andrade already accused when he first met Gloria? also gloria sarabia. If not, the text should be edited.

Sergio Andrade

What has happened to him-is he free also? Tommypowell 16:44, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sergio Andrade had been in jail since the year 2000 (in Brazil and later in Mexico) but was eventually released in 2005. Soon after he tried unsuccessfully to get all claims of him ever being a child predator dropped. There simply was too much evidence against him. And yet despite that evidence, he was set free. But then that's how the justice system works in Mexico. It should be noted that while he spent his time behind bars, Sergio became infamous for writing about his favorite subject: sex. Some of his books were so risqué that they were prohibited from being sold in most public libraries in Mexico. However, they gained some popularity in countries that are usually into erotic material of the weird kind: Japan (the land of lolicon) and France (need I say more?). Presently, Sergio Andrade has his own musical group and is trying to build a career for himself as a gentle poet and writer. --Pikminister (talk) 21:14, 21 July 2009 (UTC)--Pikminister (talk) 21:13, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV

The article was full of indirect and subtle jabs at Trevi that were a clear sign of NPOV. I tried to do a general clean-up on it and eliminated some unnecessary lines. However, some more might be necessary. This article deserves more attention. Thief12 14:02, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree as phrases such as "anything that came into her mind" have a snide tone. And not to sound overly snide myself, but the writing level of this article seems a bit sub-par. While there are not necessarily glaring grammatical and spelling errors, the general construction of the sentences and flow from one to the next seems juvenile, like a report for a high school class. Things are capitalized needlessly (e.g. why is "live" capitalized when referring to live versions of the songs).

I thought the article was badly tilted toward Trevi, as when numerous broadly accepted facts are given as "alleged," or when Aline Hernandez (who had married the middle-aged Andrades when she was thirteen and fled him four years later) is referred to merely as his "former wife." The author(s) of the article clearly have never read the highly detailed and carefully researched Trevi biography "Girl Trouble" (Harper Collins 2004) by Christopher McDougal. Whether you agree with McDougal or not, I would suggest that no encylopedia entry on Trevi can be taken seriously if it does not reference this volume. I have not added "Girl Trouble" to the biliography or provided any citations from it because the existing article does not seem to have been written with any aspect of McDougal's findings in mind; but I strongly recommend that those of you who have actively worked on this article find the book, read it, and revise the article accordingly.--Ralph Dancis (talk) 22:10, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ana Dalai: Gloria's missing daughter

Gloria Trevi and her manager Sergio Andrade had a daughter in 1999 who was named Ana Dalai. Controversy arose over this child when Trevi's ex-clan members confessed that the little girl had died during the time they were living as fugitives in Brazil. Gloria Trevi herself later confessed to a popular Mexican journalist (Adela Micha) that her daughter was in fact dead. According to several ex-clan members, the girl died mostly due to neglect. In the same interview with Miss Micha, Gloria added that she ignored what had happened to the body of the child. To this very day, no one really knows what happened to Ana Dalia and very few people seem to care. Gloria Trevi wrote a book where she says that the child had died asphyxiated in her own cradle. Yet there were rumors that the child was in fact alive and living secretly with a relative of the singer. In any case, no one was ever brought to justice over the child's death. The Mexican media at present, ignores the issue. Televisa, the most powerful multimedia conglomerate, ceased to follow the case when they learned that Gloria Trevi remained extremely popular among the low-income masses. They knew that they could cash in on that popularity. The poor and the working class identified with Gloria because she was perceived as a victim. Gloria still takes advantage of that perception during her concerts. Where she usually cries before her adoring public. Lamenting over the lost of her first born, Ana Dalai. To honor the memory of her child, Gloria started in 2005 a foundation named "Ana Dalai", which offers help to children that are born in prisons. It should be noted that Gloria's loyal fanbase gets very resentful whenever the issue of Ana Dalai is brought up by anyone aside from Gloria herself. It's a touchy subject. --Pikminister (talk) 21:11, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

-"revi later admitted in a comic strip that she does not know of the whereabouts of this daughter" what? how does one "admit" in a comic strip? there should be some clarification there...Alessio.aguirre (talk) 20:11, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Singles

"Hoy me iré de casa" is not listed as a single, and it's one of the most important songs of her career. It was released after "Agarrate". Also, "Con los ojos cerrados" was released as a second single, after "Zapatos viejos". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kkro89 (talkcontribs) 03:48, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Chart positions

The chart figures on this page seem to conflict with other sources on the internet (e.g. http://www.billboard.com/features/chart-beat-chat-1003568397.story#/features/chart-beat-chat-1003568397.story) Pelo Suelto is listed as reaching #19 rather than #1 on Hot Latin Songs.

Is anyone else able to confirm the wikipedia chart figures are correct? Laalaaa (talk) 14:29, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

== Gloria Trevi discography ==as gloria sarabia la loca.

Support split - Discography section takes up almost half of the page and should be split to a new article entitled Gloria Trevi discography. --Jax 0677 (talk) 17:35, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
