Extreme Rules (2009) or WWE Extreme Rules?

Considering we're at the moment assuming (until proven wrong) it's a separate pay-per-view from WWE One Night Stand, wouldn't it make sense to have this article at WWE Extreme Rules? The quantifier is only used for pay-per-views held at least twice (see for example WWF Invasion or WCW Sin). -- Oakster  Talk  18:50, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, for right now, and until 2010 it should be at WWE Extreme Rules per WP:NCNUM. I will be WP:BOLD and move it, if I can.--RUCӨ 18:56, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
More like, I will contact an admin to do it ;)--RUCӨ 18:57, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. -- Oakster  Talk  19:10, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The name of the PPV suggests that like One Night Stand, matches will be under extreme rules. Until we find out for sure that matches will be under extreme rules, keep this and One Night Stand articles seperate. If they have the same idea, then combine them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.37.71.179 (talk) 02:56, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We will only combine them if they are part of the same chronology.--Best, RUCӨ 03:03, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rename: Night of Extreme or WWE Night of Extreme

One Night Stand has been canceled and instead be replaced by the Pay-Per-View exhibition, Night of Extreme [1]. Due to this, I'm moving that this article have its name changed to reflect such. ⒺⓋⒾⓁⒼⓄⒽⒶⓃ talk 23:19, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1)It's Extreme Rules, not Night of Extreme. WWE has changed the name several times. First it was One Night Stand, then Extreme Rules, then Night of Extreme, then Extreme Rules again. Do not move with solid proof. WWE has already advertised tickets with the Extreme Rules name. TJ Spyke 23:41, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

it's night of extreme: [2] simply check it, on the right, it says night of extreme! 99.240.192.145 (talk) 02:16, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

From the past, we cannot rely on that side bar schedule. We can only rely on ticket information produced by WWE or the venue.--Best, RUCӨ 02:18, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
See WT:PW. This is the 4th time they re-named the event and there is no sign this will be the final name. We should wait for them to do some print material for it. Besides, the last time they re-named it to Night of Extreme they changed it back 1 day later. TJ Spyke 02:19, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

History

Does Extreme Rules have the same History as One Night Stand or is it going by itself? [[User:Supermike|Supermike] (talk) 1 08:12 31 March 2009 —Preceding undated comment added 13:25, 31 March 2009 (UTC).[reply]

We don't know yet, WWE hasn't said one way or another. TJ Spyke 16:35, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The newest special issue of WWE Magazine (called The Big Book of Wrestling) confirms that Extreme Rules will share the heritage of One Night Stand. In the section on great pay per view moments, the page for Extreme Rules shows pics from past One Night Stand pay per views with the Extreme Rules logo at the top and an asterick next to it. The note for the asterick at the bottom says "Previously One Night Stand." Do with this information what you will.Wwehurricane1 (talk) 02:09, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PPV in trouble

So I just heard that the Extreme Rules PPV might be kick out of the area its in because of a basket ball game [[User:Supermike|Supermike] (talk) 1 08:12 31 March 2009 —Preceding undated comment added 13:25, 31 March 2009 (UTC).[reply]

If it is, it has the a back up arena at the University.--WillC 01:32, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's not in danger, the the only basketball games would be if the New Orleans Hornets made the NBA playoffs and that ain't happening. Anyways, it obviously won't be noted unless it happens (if anything, the basketball game would have to be held at another location since WWE has probably already paid the money to rent the arena that night and could possibly sue for breach of contract if they tried to make WWE move the event). Hell in a cell

Whats this written in the end of the article

Hell in A cell Randy Orton (c) vs Batista vs Triple H —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bilal2009 (talkcontribs) 07:32, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

smackdown matches

I know you will wait for them to air but i would like to let you know that jeff vs edge is ladder match, rey mysterio vs jericho is no hold barred match and umaga challenged cm punk to a samoan strap match..--Ruthless-paki (talk) 20:33, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What was the point of posting this section if you already knew that they won't be going in the article? TJ Spyke 20:44, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Because he doesn't have any references yet.. :P Hooray!!! (talk) 20:18, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Extreme Rules not in extreme rules?

I see no reference on the WWE website that this PPV would be fought entirely on Extreme Rules. It just says plain Steel Cage and plain Submission match. Hooray!!! (talk) 20:18, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Extreme rules" just means No Disqualification. Steel Cage and Submission matches are be default no-disqualification. Take a look at One Night Stand (2008) and you will see the same thing, all matches were match types with no-disqualifications. Also, the article gives you the source on wwe.com saying all matches are under Extreme Rules. TJ Spyke 20:31, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Umaga vs Punk

What the heck is a Samoen Starp match? --Cooly123 (talk) 14:29, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You would have to ask the WWE writers why they made it that. If you mean why is the word "Samoan" in front of it; Umaga is from Samoa and his nickname is the "Samoan Bulldozer". TJ Spyke 14:37, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That leather belt or strap will be a legal weapon, simply put. Now the exact stipulations of the match will be revealed soon, whether it will be hanging from a pole and the first to get it wins, or whatever.\:.:bibboorton:.:/ (talk) 17:07, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The rules were announced on SD! this week; it is similar to the Texas Bullrope match with both men tethered together, and having to touch each corner of the ring in succession. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crippler4 (talkcontribs)
Would it be important to give a brief synopsis of the rules on the page? We should still save the full stipulation description for the actual page, but I think a general explanation would suffice. Crippler4 11:30, 1 June 2009
In my opinion no, but I know a certain editor who will put them in anyways. TJ Spyke 19:26, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes TJ, I wonder who that editor would be, maybe it is Barney, I hear he likes to edit on here. This is a WWE article, I could care less about it, but a small description is needed, seeing as no one knows what the hell the match is anyway.--WillC 20:19, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of the strap match I would agree since there are two variations of the strap match and we should make it clear which one is used here. TJ Spyke 20:34, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe we should wait until the event to mention what the rules are, because the rules weren't announced at the same time as the match. Crippler
They mentioned the other night on Smackdown that the rules are to drag your opponent to all four corners and touch the turnbuckle.Wwehurricane1 (talk) 22:31, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Protection

Some jackass keeps vandalizing this page. It should be semi protected. Vermon CaTaffy 8 (talk) 01:26, 8 June 2009 (UTC) Edits are being made to fix the vandalism...but I do agree with you —Preceding unsigned comment added by Taybabe05 (talkcontribs) 01:38, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They protected it. But the person who protected it is fucking insane to do it for ONE FREAKING DAY!!!--SuperSilver901 01:43, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to fix it but since im new i got blocked by doing it too much i guess. but thanks to whoever fixed it —Preceding unsigned comment added by Abigail1995 (talkcontribs) 01:45, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism usually stops the day after the PPV, so 1 day isn't bad. TJ Spyke 01:50, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Triple Threat Match

I think the info is wrong, from memory i'm pretty sure christian powerbombed swagger who suplexed dreamer, it says in the article that it was swagger who powerbombed christian. 86.135.254.246 (talk) 15:30, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
