Template:Old TfD/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by 184.146.170.127 (talk) at 02:35, 18 June 2024 (cat parameter was removed in https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Old_TfD&diff=prev&oldid=274109648). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This header template is placed on talk pages of templates and modules to link to previous relevant TfD discussions.

Usage

{{Old TfD|date=|result=}}

e.g. {{Old TfD|date=2024 July 10|result=keep}}

Parameters

|date= and |result=
Mandatory parameters.
|1=
Optional parameter for non-default pagename, suitable if the page has been moved since the deletion debate, or if it was nominated under the name of another template in a multiple nomination: {{Old TfD|date=|result=|Template:pagename}}
|disc= a.k.a. |discuss=, |talk=
Customize the discussion section's title. Default is template full page name. Example: {{Old TfD|date =2024 July 10|result=keep|disc=Language templates}}.
|merge=target

For merger proposals. Changes "deletion" to "merging with target".

|more_merge=
To add additional wikitext to |merge=. E.g. |more_merge=and [[target2]], and [[target2]] — linking and punctuation needs to be added manually in this parameter (which begins immediately after the value of |merge= with a space character between it and the value of |more_merge=). If the merge targets all share the same talk page, you can use the special value |merge=self to just output "merging" without specifying template names.

Old TfD naming scheme

For templates that survived a TfD debate before 4 January 2006, use |link=Not deleted/MONTHNAME YEAR to modify the link to point to the relevant deletion discussion.
