Aiguille de Bionnassay

[edit]
Summit of Aiguille de Bionnassay
Summit of Aiguille de Bionnassay
  • ... that in 1865 the first alpine climbers to reach the summit of the Aiguille de Bionnassay (pictured) arrived in a thunderstorm, their ice axes humming with electrical activity?

5x expanded by Parkywiki (talk). Self-nominated at 17:43, 10 November 2015 (UTC).

  • This article is a five-fold expansion and is new enough and long enough. I have struck ALT2 as being less interesting and I like the original hook best. The image is appropriately licensed. The hook facts are in a lengthy Précis of the first ascent and confirmed by the Google book source. The article is neutral and seems to be free of copyright issues. • This is a very classy hook. I thought about running it in the quirky slot, but the image is so beautiful that it really deserves a lead slot. However, several paragraphs lack any cite at all, per Rule D2. The nominator also has 5 DYK credits, so a QPQ should be submitted with this nomination. Yoninah (talk) 23:01, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your feedback, Yoninah. I'm afraid this was my first self-nominated DYK, and, boy, did I struggle to understand all the processes. However, I did do a QPQ immediately afterwards, but I'm afraid I didn't know how to retrospectively edit my DYK template to show this. Do please see the template for Michiyo Tsujimura which I did on 11 November. Is this acceptable? I will gladly nip back and add inline citations to all paragraphs in the article, though they will be repeats from previous ones, I fear. Thanks for your nice feedback.Parkywiki (talk) 23:28, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
  • QPQ done. (I slotted it in above.) Yoninah (talk) 23:35, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. Extra inline citations now added to the article, too. Regards, Parkywiki (talk) 01:39, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Confirming my tick. I agree with Yoninah that this deserves an image slot. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:35, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
