Ian Page is an Australian living in Seattle, USA. He spent his first 30-odd years in South Australia, then lived in Sydney, Australia for 30 years before his move to the US in 2012.

Most of his working life he was a First Assistant Director on film shoots in Australia and New Zealand, and also worked for several years as a taxi driver in Sydney, before the rise of Uber made that untenable. Since moving to the US, he has worked about 3 months in each of 2017, 2019 and 2021 driving a Google StreetView car around large swathes of Washington and northern Oregon. He's an avid movie-goer, but is bored to tears by current mainstream "running/shouting/shooting" movies. He reads widely (especially history) though not particularly systematically.

He used to get back to Australia 2 or 3 times each year, but COVID kept him in the US for more than 2 years from 2020 to 2022. Since then he visits Australian family and friends less often, about once a year.
