Reverend LaVerne McCain Gill was born October 13, 1947 in Washington, D.C. and passed on October 30, 2021 in Reston, VA, She was the daughter of Paul McCain and Mary Williams; and married Tepper Gill, a mathematician on February 9, 1977. She is survived also by her two children, Dylan McDuffie and Tepper Gill. She was an ordained minister and spiritual director in the United Chrich of Christ (UCC), the author of five books and numerous articles. She is a graduate of Howard University, Rutgers University and
