Shortly after disbanding, other members of the band, including Kellison, embarked on solo efforts, most notably the Son of 76. Other members would go on to play with such diverse acts as Indigenous, Herbie Hancock and Willie Nelson.

Rise

In 2006, Kellison released his first independent album, Rise, which received much critical acclaim, earning Kellison the Lincoln Journal Star's Album of the Year and his first of three nominations for the Omaha Entertainment Awards. In addition to local acclaim, Rise also earned recognition nationally, making Indie-music.com's Top 25 CD's of 2007, and many other similar publications.

New Muse

Kellison's second album, New Muse was released in 2009 under the guise of Lucas Kellison and The Assembled Soul. Again, the album drew similar acclaim and, this time, featured Kellison's newly formed live band. It was given a 5-star review by the Lincoln Journal Star in addition to many other stellar reviews by local publications. == Lucas Kellison == Kellison is set to release his highly anticipated self-titled album for 2011.

They have recorded acts such as members of Day26 and Lil' Flip in addition to local talent.

In addition to Kellison's solo career, he has also sang and arranged music for a cappella group No Better Cause. His brother, Nate, is the founder and also a member of this group. To date, the group has sold over 10,000 albums worldwide.

Quotes

"Lincoln has a soul, and her soul has a name. It is Lucas Kellison and the Assembled Soul." [3]-- Daily Nebrakan, 2009

"...Rise, one of the most impressive discs to come out of Lincoln in the past two decades." [4]-- Lincoln Journal-Star, 2007

"Rise is filled with many aural delights, which will oftentimes remind you of the great days of soul music’s past...If there’s any justice, Lucas Kellison will rise to the occasion to become Wonder's new, necessary successor." [5]-- indie-music.com, 2007

"So they built the dream, turning a space at the end of a garage building on North 33rd Street into Sadson Music Group studio, a state-of-the-art studio and the first such studio built in Lincoln in decades." [6]-- Lincoln Journal Star, 2010

"The musicianship was solid, but it’s Kellison’s vocals along with the harmonies provided by other members of the band that brings their sound home. Think Maxwell, D’Angelo, Thicke, Stevie and Jamiriquai – and that is actually pigeonholing them too much as classic funk, soul, rock and jazz influences are evident as well." -- Homer's Music

"With "New Muse," Lucas Kellison and his bandmates in The Assembled Soul have created a recording embracing everything that pop/soul/R&B can be... Lucas is one of the most talented songwriters and performers in Lincoln today. You need to go check him out." [7] -- L Magazine, 2009
