Junk It! is a Toronto-based garbage collection, junk removal and disposal company. It offers a broad range of bespoke waste removal services for local businesses and individuals across the wider Toronto area.[1][5][3]

The company was founded in 2002 by Christopher Luciano and James Luciano with the aim of offering a better level of customer service and tailored, flexible waste services in the Toronto region.[1][2][3][4] Junk It!’s services have been featured on several films and television shows, including Junk Raiders, Canada’s Worst Driver, Colin and Justin’s Home Heist, Restaurant Makeover, and Love it or List It.[1][5]

The company’s head offices are located in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.[1]

History

Junk It! was conceived by Christopher Luciano while he was renovating his home. [1] With a large amount of waste to be collected, Christopher noted that there were few options in Toronto for privately organized junk removal.[1]

Luciano refined the business model with his co-founder James Luciano. Junk It! was launched late 2002.[1][5]

Product

Junk It! Offers full-service and self-service waste removal products.[1][4] Full-service waste removal is performed by a Junk It! Team, while self-service removal consists of a bin or large dumpster rental.[1] The cost per project varies depending the amount of waste that needs to be removed.[5]

Environmental considerations

Junk It! recycles a percentage of the waste that it removes. Any items the company picks up which are still in good working order and may still be of use can be donated to local charities.[1] Items that cannot be recycled or donated to charity are taken to licensed landfill sites.[1]
