250px vs. 250

250

Hi,
just FYI, removing the size unit px only works because the explicit size parameter isn't recognized anymore: it's now just an unnamed non-keyword parameter that is ignored by the image syntax because only the last such parameter is used for the title – see the example image I used in this section where the 250 is now used as the title. Doesn't make a difference with the image in the Rihanna article, but for future reference, it's cleaner to remove the whole thing. :)

You Da One

You just could not help it, right? :O Jivesh1205 (Talk) 13:51, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

What? It's true though Jivesh. She doesn't say that it is definitely her singing in head voice, she questions it. You said that it is her singing in the background, and the source doesn't say that. Aaron You Da One 15:03, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
Oh. Let it be. :P Jivesh1205 (Talk) 15:06, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
Why is this section's title You Da One?! Aaron You Da One 15:07, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
Because I wanted to title it that way. :P Jivesh1205 (Talk) 15:10, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Hurt: The EP

My edit was not vandalism on the article. Hurt: The EP has not charted as a EP. It was the song "Hurt" included in the EP that charted on the UK Singles Chart and Irish Singles Chart. Afavoritaweb (Talk) 21:47, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

WikiCup 2012 January newsletter

WikiCup 2012 is off to a flying start. At the time of writing, we have 112 contestants; comparable to last year, but slightly fewer than 2010. Signups will remain open for another week, after which time they will be closed for this year. Our currrent far-away leader is Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions), due mostly to his work on a slew of good articles about The X-Files; there remain many such articles waiting to be reviewed at good article candidates. Second place is currently held by Minnesota Ruby2010 (submissions), whose points come mostly from good articles about television episodes, although good article reviews, did you knows and an article about a baroness round out the score. In third place is Mauritius Jivesh boodhun (submissions), who has scored 200 points for his work on a single featured article, as well as points for work on others, mostly in the area of pop music. In all, nine users have 100 or more points. However, at the other end of the scale, there are still dozens of participants who are yet to score. Please remember to update your submission pages promptly!

The 64 highest scoring participants will advance to round 2 in a month's time. There, they will be split into eight random groups of eight. The score needed to reach the next round is not at all clear; last year, 8 points guaranteed a place. The year before, 20.

A few participants and their work warrant a mention for achieving "firsts" in this competition.

  • Florida 12george1 (submissions) was the first to score, with his good article review of Illinois v. McArthur.
  • Florida 12george1 (submissions) was also the first to score points for an article, thanks to his work on Hurricane Debby (1982)- now a good article. Tropical storms have featured heavily in the Cup, and good articles currently have a relatively fast turnaround time for reviews.
  • Russia Sp33dyphil (submissions) was the first to score points for a did you know, with Russian submarine K-114 Tula. Military history is another subject which has seen a lot of Cup activity.
  • Russia Sp33dyphil (submissions) is also the first person to successfully claim bonus points. Terminator 2: Judgment Day is now a good article, and was eligible for bonus points because the subject was covered on more than 20 other Wikipedias at the start of the competition. It is fantastic to see bonus points being claimed so early!
  • Byzantine Empire Speciate (submissions) was the first to score points for an In the News entry, with Paedophryne amauensis. The lead image from the article was also used on the main page for a time, and it's certainly eye-catching!
  • Mauritius Jivesh boodhun (submissions) was the first to score points for a featured article, and is, at the moment, the only competitor to claim for one. The article, "Halo" (Beyoncé Knowles song), was also worth double points because of its wide coverage. While this is an article that Jivesh and others have worked on for some time, it is undeniable that he has put considerable work into it this year, pushing it over the edge.

We are yet to see any featured lists, featured topics or good topics, but this is unsurprising; firstly, the nomination processes with each of these can take some time, and, secondly, it can take a considerable amount of time to work content to this level. In a similar vein, we have seen only one featured article. The requirement that content must have been worked on this year to be eligible means that we did not expect to see these at the start of the competition. No points have been claimed for featured portals or pictures, but these are not content types which are often claimed; the former has never made a big impact on the WikiCup, while the latter has not done so since 2009's competition.

A quick rules clarification before the regular notices: If you are concerned that another user is claiming points inappropriately, please contact a judge to take a look at the article. Competitors policing one another can create a bad atmosphere, and may lead to inconsistencies and mistakes. Rest assured that we, the judges, are making an effort to check submissions, but it is possible that we will miss something. On a loosely related note: If you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. We Found Love

Hey, I have no idea where it went. I never got a notification of it being deleted, so I'd assume its still available on Wikipedia. Why wouldn't you have seen someone removing it from the article? Status {talkcontribs 00:37, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't where it went, I didn't see it get removed. I've tried looking back on previous revisions but I can't see it now. Aaron You Da One 11:39, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
It was removed because it failed WP:NFCC#3 and WP:NFCC#8. More than one screenshot/sample of the same video/song cannot be uploaded in most circumstances. So the image was removed from the article and most likely deleted as an orphan. Hope that clears things, —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 11:57, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
Okay. I'd really like the one of just Britney back though for the comparison section. Aaron You Da One

Peer review limits changed

This is a notice to all users who currently have at least one open peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review. Because of the large number of peer review requests and relatively low number of reviewers, the backlog of PRs has been at 20 or more almost continually for several months. The backlog is for PR requests which have gone at least four days without comments, and some of these have gone two weeks or longer waiting for a review.

While we have been able to eventually review all PRs that remain on the backlog, something had to change. As a result of the discussion here, the consensus was that all users are now limited to one (1) open peer review request.

If you already have more than one open PR, that is OK in this transition period, but you cannot open any more until all your active PR requests have been closed. If you would like someone to close a PR for you, please ask at Wikipedia talk:Peer review. If you want to help with the backlog, please review an article whoe PR request is listed at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog/items. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:50, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Re: Warnings

Ok, I won't attempt to create them again unless I have something substantial to contribute. I was just a bit annoyed that they were deleted because I'm a big Coldplay fan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronayne94 (talkcontribs) 23:47, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

They haven't been deleted. They have been re-directed. The info is still there, it's just hidden. The articles need to be more like Stupid in Love or Cockiness (Love It). There needs to be a lot more info than what you gave. Those Coldplay articles were simply not of the standard that should be on here. Aaron You Da One 23:56, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
I understand, no problem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronayne94 (talkcontribs) 00:58, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Your FLC

I'm one of the FLC directors, so I have to be careful not to support too often since I can't close FLCs where I've supported. I usually only support FLCs from my preferred field of sports, which helps prevent my personal bias toward sports lists from affecting FLC too much. There are plenty of music editors active at FLC; I'm sure more of them will take an interest in your list soon. Giants2008 (Talk) 02:14, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Re:Hey

Nope- any article which is widely covered (or appears on the vital list) is eligible for bonus points if it is featured at DYK or promoted to GA, FA or FL. In addition, any widely-covered portal can claim bonus points if it's promoted to featured status. See Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring#Bonus points. J Milburn (talk) 16:56, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Yep, the bot will do it for you, in theory. The "vital list" is at Wikipedia:Vital articles- anything that was on there at the beginning of the year scores double points. This will not usually be important, as the articles will usually be covered on 20+ Wikipedias anyway. J Milburn (talk) 18:37, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Template

What have you done to the template? Rihanna has enough singles to have separate one. That kind of templates are usually don't used on Wikipedia now. — Tomica (talk) 15:26, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

This one works a lot better. Other singer's use the same guideline and it's a lot more functional. Aaron You Da One 15:27, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Works better? Wow, in which way? Don't change it, cause I really think it does not comply Wikipedia policy. — Tomica (talk) 15:29, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Other singer's use it Tomica! What is wrong with you. Aaron You Da One 15:29, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Block

There won't be a consensus if they can't see it! Use your brain! ... I am seeing this now, and to be honest, this is the end of everything. Sorry, but Wikipedia has some policies and this is something like block. — Tomica (talk) 18:23, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Don't be silly. And it's true, you're not thinking properly. You're so obsessed with reverting me and making sure that the template can't be used whilst saying that there should be a vote, you're not thinking that people actually need to be able to see the template in order to vote. Having the previously used doesn't help people at all with regard to trying to vote, does it. Aaron You Da One 18:27, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I don't care Calvin. Its not true, I am not just reverting you. I just really don't think that the template should look like that and is my freaking opinion. I have always try to help you with everything here. Even when there should I give opposes I didn't. But you? You always want to take it how you think. Sorry, this hurt me a lot and I will not just sit around. Administrators will do their thing. — Tomica (talk) 18:30, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, but at the same time you are saying that there should be a vote. How do you expect people to vote on the template when they can't see the proposed template? It's ridiculous. I can see exactly why you are doing this to me and I have to say I think it is very malicious. All I did was alter the design of the template, and you immediately had a problem with it, even though it is something you tried doing before. I don't give Supports to people because they are my friend, I do what everyone should do, and look at articles from an uninvolved viewpoint. But this is off topic. Aaron You Da One 18:34, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I give supports when I think it should be. And I wrote OPPOSES !!! — Tomica (talk) 18:41, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm thinking of leaving Wikipedia, permanently.

I'm thinking of leaving Wikipedia permanently. For some of you, this probably comes as joyous news. I used to absolutely love coming onto Wikipedia everyday and editing Rihanna articles, but recently, things have become too much of a chore and it's been stressful. A lot of people clearly don't like me on here, and I'm sure particular individuals want me gone. It doesn't help to know that the vast majority of people who are reading this right now have spoken negatively about me via social media networking sites. Yes, I know about that and who has spoken about me. I seem to not be able to do anything, or talk to anyone, without being argued to and or accused of not complying with people, even if I don't understand something. It appears that people deem it acceptable to talk to me how they wish, yet when I counter something, they can't take it and stop talking to me. Things have become too much on here for some time now, and I'm finding that I am increasingly not enjoying being on here. I don't know what is going to happen, I'm just going to play it by ear and see how things pan out. The smallest of things or asks seem to escalate into the largest of battles which take a long time to resolve themselves. Aaron You Da One 13:26, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Instead of wallowing in self-pity, you could try to take our suggestions in good faith and be more cooperative. It's not impossible to change one's attitude, especially over the Internet, but first one has to accept and identify the things that need changing. I don't know you very well, but from what I've seen I can tell you're a determined editor with a laudable amount of perseverance, but the fact remains that you're human, and naturally it's frustrating if things don't as planned. Just try to look at it in a different light before presuming the worst of things, and please do reconsider staying as your great work ethic is valuable here. Auree 17:21, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't know the whole story Calvin, but I don't think it would be right for you to leave just because some people don't like you. I'm sure you know better than anyone that there's people around here that don't like me either, but I haven't let it effect me one bit. You're a fantastic editor, don't let other editors bring you down. Just report it. — Status {talkcontribs 23:12, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Thanks Status. Aaron You Da One 23:37, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
My pleasure, and thank you! :) — Status {talkcontribs 00:35, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

I hope you don't leave, Calvin. You're a darn good editor and you've done lots of good work here. I know that editing can be frustrating, especially when other editors feel they know better than you. Some editors like to bait others and quickly lose interest when they don't get the attention they want. If you can leave an article for a few weeks until the situation calms down, so much the better. Take heart, learn the lesson and move on. I often find it helpful to find something else to do, like clean-up, copy-editing or article rescue. Perhaps you might like to join the Guild of Copy Editors; there's lots of work to do over there at the moment, and requesting editors appreciate the help they receive. Copy-editing can be very therapeutic too - just think of all those words to slash your way through! :-) I'm usually around somewhere, so if you're feeling stressed about a situation you can always leave a note on my page and I'll try to help if I can. Anyway, I hope things work out for you here - don't let the numpties get you down! :-) Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 03:54, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Cake will either do exceptionally well or fans will boycott it. It will go either way. Aaron You Da One 10:59, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
I just listened to it and I'm really disappointed. I hate it, Chris has made a promising (and arguably most catchy song on TTT) track sound really bad. I'm so disappointed, I was really hoping that would be good. I don't know, I actually feel let down by Rihanna that she has even done a song with him, yet alone two. Aaron You Da One 15:19, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
In my opinion, it became too dirty. :S Jivesh1205 (Talk) 17:14, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, it is. Aaron You Da One 22:23, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

To be honest, I think collaborations are overdone in today's industry. They weren't quite so common back then, and that's what made the songs so much more powerful and personal (that lone artist, the center of attention). Now people will do anything to get the most pop-radio-friendly musicians on board to score the higher parts of the charts. It's obvious this whole remix was kind of a gimmick, but we'll see how critics react. On the other hand, I think it's really sweet the two are working together. It might be "LTWYL" all over again. Hi. When you recently edited List of songs recorded by Rihanna, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page S&M (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Since you know a thing or two about genres, is electro house and euro house the same thing? The source called the song euro-house, but I also know that eurodance is often referred to as eurohouse, what should I do?--(CA)Giacobbe (talk) 22:21, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Eurohouse, or more specifically, House music, is a type of electronic dance music. Eurodance is is a type of dance-pop. You have to write down what the critics say the song is in their reviews. Aaron You Da One 22:51, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
So the genre would be eurohouse then?--(CA)Giacobbe (talk) 01:05, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm so confused... The author says its eurohouse, but eurohouse redirects to house music on wikipedia? Should I just keep it as electro house since it doesn't sound like "Marry The Night" kind of house, its more electronic?--(CA)Giacobbe (talk) 01:50, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Re:Hi (again!)

Technically, that took place during the interim, meaning that you can claim for it for next round, but not until next round. If you really need the points this round, let me know, and we may be able to work something out. J Milburn (talk) 13:40, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Yep. I'll be dealing with that sort of thing over the next few days- that's why we have this interim period. If you don't need the points now, you may well find yourself as one of the first out of blocks in round 2! J Milburn (talk) 13:52, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

PhoenixJHudson

PhoenixJHudson is under a revert restriction as a part of his unblocking arrangement. If he adds something and another editor takes it out, he can't put it back on his own. The purpose of this is to try to change him from an edit warrior into someone that works with other editors. I'd appreciate it if you could be cooperative and supportive. He really wants to edit and seems to be a reasonably good editor, but given the behaviour of some of his past accounts, I had to restrict him for a while.—Kww(talk) 21:16, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

He did remove things from articles, as well as change (critics quotes) information, which shouldn't have been removed or changed. I looked at his contributions and it is just full of changing Rihanna articles and removing things. He should have been told about the function of a talk page. And he has put things back by himself. Aaron You Da One 21:19, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Can you show me an edit where he added something, another editor removed it, and he added it back?—Kww(talk) 21:50, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
So myself is not included? Aaron You Da One 21:57, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Calvin/Aaron, please don't use the editing restrictions to get your way though. I saw that he was quite uncivil with you on his talk page, but please be the bigger man and try to handle this constructively. Amalthea 22:02, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Well there's not point have restrictions if they aren't imposed. Aaron You Da One 22:04, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
I don't see that he violated them? You boldly removed the Tattoo section, he restored it (which is normal WP:BRD and he is not restricted from that), you re-reverted citing that he is under restrictions.
On second thought, this was probably merely a misunderstanding because you thought he may not revert at all. In general I would recommend to leave enforcing restrictions to Kww though, otherwise this will just be more difficult for everyone involved.
Amalthea 22:12, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Exactly: he's allowed to revert, he's just not allowed to revert when someone undoes one of his edits. Not that complicated, but you shouldn't take advantage of it. Report violations if you see them.—Kww(talk) 22:21, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Hey, here's the source saying the remix featuring Chris Brown is being sent to urban radios on March 6, 2012. For now I think it's just an urban single but it is still a single so I think it should be on the table like Raining Men. Decodet (talk) 01:02, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Re: Re: DYK of Rated R: Remixed (Which you sent to the prep area)

I do not know exactly why it was changed, but the edit summary given by the admin who made the change indicates that the change was prompted by the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Did you know#Queue 5, Rated R: Remixed. --Allen3 talk 01:06, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

But there was no discussion of changing it to that? So why was it changed? Aaron You Da One 01:10, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Hi there, sorry for the delay in responding to the post on my talk page, but my work internet was all screwy today, so I figured I'd be better off waiting till I got home. I've looked into it and I think Orlady changed the hook due to the comments made by Kevin McE on the talk page regarding the the exclusivity of the remixing referred to in the original hook. I think in order to get an answer to the appropriate question which is why was the hook changed to what it was changed to, you'll need to ask Orlandy. Miyagawa (talk) 21:00, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Rated R: Remixed

I don't want anything to do with this DYK. Aaron You Da One 18:48, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
I would advise you against removing the box from the article's talk page, however much you dislike it. It's been on the Main Page and the box serves to record that fact. The box doesn't link you to it in any way, so I'd suggest you leave it alone. It could be construed as vandalism. Just a friendly piece of advice. Strange Passerby (talkcont) 18:51, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
It's the principle of it. Aaron You Da One 18:56, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
I can empathise with you, but that's not how it works, unfortunately, is it? When I last contributed at DYK (which was quite a while back now, before the plagiarism controversy broke out and I decided to focus on ITN instead of dealing with hysterical editors), it was standard that any change to the approved hook between T:TDYK and the prep areas and subsequently the Main Page was to be discussed. Perhaps a better route to go down is to find out why it was changed (and by who), and discuss the issue with them. Strange Passerby (talkcont) 18:59, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
I know why it was changed, who wanted it changed, and who changed it. Aaron You Da One 19:00, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Then, indeed, the next step would be to discuss it (or, if you have done so and are dissatisfied, consider further dispute resolution). It won't change the hook now, but it's probably important to make the point that due process ought to be followed where the situation didn't/doesn't call for an obvious application of WP:IAR. Strange Passerby (talkcont) 19:06, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
If the hook can't be changed then there is no point. It's just such a shit hook. Aaron You Da One 19:08, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

WikiCup 2012 February newsletter

Round 1 is already over! The 64 highest scorers have progressed to round 2. Our highest scorer was Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions), again thanks mostly to a swathe of good articles on The X-Files. In second place was United Kingdom Tigerboy1966 (submissions), thanks an impressive list of did you knows about racehorses. Both scored over 400 points. Following behind with over 300 points were Minnesota Ruby2010 (submissions), Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions), Wisconsin Miyagawa (submissions) and Scotland Casliber (submissions). February also saw the competition's first featured list: List of colleges and universities in North Dakota, from Minnesota Ruby2010 (submissions). At the other end of the scale, 11 points was enough to secure a place in this round, and some contestants with 10 points made it into the round on a tiebreaker. This is higher than the 8 points that were needed last year, but lower than the 20 points required the year before. The number of points required to progress to round 3 will be significantly higher.

The remaining contestants have been split into 8 pools of 8, named A through H. Round two will finish in two months time on 28 April, when the two highest scorers in each pool, as well as the next 16 highest scorers, will progress to round 3. The pools were entirely random, so while some pools may end up being more competitive than others, this is by chance rather than design.

The judges would like to point out two quick rules reminders. First, any content promoted during the interim period (that is, on or after 27 February) is eligible for points in round 2. Second, any content worked on significantly this year is eligible for points if promoted in this round. On a related note, if you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which would otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Edit summaries

When you revert an editor, please provide a meaningful explanation as to why you felt the edit needed reversion. It's also unhelpful to revert a large change due to a sourcing problem with one small section. The edit summaries you are using serve to antagonize PhoenixJHudson, and the wholesale reversions seem to be intended to take advantage of the restrictions on his editing.—Kww(talk) 18:07, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

I'm not taking advantage. We don't use twitter as a source, so I remove it and it's info. We don't italicise song names, so I reverted. We don't write chart positions above 10 as prose, so I reverted. He hasn't learnt anything from his block. Adding huge quantities of info without consensus as well as adding non reliable sources and making incorrect MOS edits. Also, "in addition to the shocking remix" = FANCRUFT. Aaron You Da One 18:10, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Provide edit summaries for your reversions. Do not revert other people's edits without a description in the edit summary as to the reason for your reversion.—Kww(talk) 18:17, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
I know, I thought I had cancelled the last one but it went through anyway. But either way, his addition was riddled with incomprehensibility and factual inaccuracy. Aaron You Da One 18:19, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
(ec) Calvin: "in addition to the shocking remix" was already in the article. The Twitter info had already been removed (although it's an outlet of a reliable source for this I would think?). I find no incorrectly italicized titles there (certainly none that would warrant wholesale reversal). I find no prose chart positions in that revert, and point out that the MoS does not forbid them at all, see WP:ORDINAL.
What Kww said: be more considerate with your reverts, and if you revert an edit completely, explain in detail why a complete revert was warranted!
Amalthea 18:21, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Well either way, it's still fancruft. Twitter is never used as it is self published and not always accurate. Remember Gaga said she would buy everyone an iPad or something? She didn't, she got hacked. And I am not just talking about Rihanna. I am talking about Birthday Cake (song) as well. Aaron You Da One 18:23, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
I'd consider a Twitter account of an entity as reliable as the entity itself. It's just as "self-published" as their official website. While it's possible that an account there is compromised or hacked, that's also true for the CMS of a website; that doesn't by itself affect the reliability of the entity. The question is not where an entity publishes information, but the process that goes into such a publication. A valid question may thus be: Is the fact-checking and scrutiny that goes into an entity's publications on traditional websites or newspapers also applied for their publications on microblogging sites? I would assume so for a source that is otherwise considered reliable, but that may be debatable.
Hopefully of course any information published on a reliable source's microblogging site can also be found on their more traditional information outlet, which makes the question rather moot.

Image removal

Hi. Would mind commenting here? An editor has been unreasonable in removing an image in that article, so I have to be the one who finds consensus. Dan56 (talk) 02:29, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Something I Noticed

Aaron, I saw this add of yours. Let me tell you that we have an article for US Radio Songs chart. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 05:06, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Radio Songs

I see that you have gone through the majority of the Rihanna articles to add many new charts to the chart tables, and you say that you can do that because of WP:USCHARTS. I agree with you that many of those needed to be added. But in terms of Radio Songs, WP:USCHARTS seems to say the opposite thing, that Radio Songs can only be added when the song has reached the Hot 100. I don't want to start a fight with you by going through to undo all your edits...so can you please explain your reasonings to me? Because at this point, I don't really understand. Thanks. MuSiClOvEr (talk) 00:24, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

I thought the Rhythmic Airplay Chart was the Radio Songs chart? Aaron You Da One 00:36, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
No, they have separate articles; if you check them, you can see that they chart different types of songs. Radio Songs charts a wider variety of songs, all types, Rhythmic only spans several genres. And also they chart a different number of positions, Rhythmic with only 40 and Radio Songs with 75 positions: Rhythmic Airplay Chart, Hot 100 Airplay (Radio Songs)
Okay. Aaron You Da One 00:41, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
I undid the Radio Songs addition to the articles. However I kept the other charts, because those are allowed to be added and are helpful to the article.
Oh and if you find correct peaks on the Rhythmic Chart I'm sure you could add those. MuSiClOvEr (talk) 01:02, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Article ownership

As much as PJH has caused his own problems, you certainly are contributing to the problem. This reversion and this reversion are, indeed, identical. Your edit summaries accompanying your reversions are profoundly lacking in content. Can you point at any discussion regarding this topic that you view yourself to be enforcing, or are you simply imposing your preference on the article?—Kww(talk) 19:03, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Are you being serious? Article ownership? Have you even bothered to look at what my (very low) edit count is on that article? You clearly couldn't have. With regard to the picture, there is nothing wrong with the current one which has been being used. You can clearly see her face, face on. The other one with a blonde wig is not aesthetically pleasing, doe not give an accurate presentation of what she looks like and her mouth is wide open. This is her bio, and the current picture is most suited to it. Aaron You Da One 19:07, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
You revert with no discussion, and do wholesale reversion of large edits without trying to preserve content. "Ownership" may not be the appropriate term, but "non-collaborative" certainly comes to mind.—Kww(talk) 19:14, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
I revert a picture with no discussion? Why am I being penalised for this? Are you also telling people they are changing the picture without discussion? Barking up the wrong tree accusing me of not making good faith edits on Rihanna articles, because I couldn't be any further from that. Aaron You Da One 19:37, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Stepping back from the argument, Calvin, please see my dilemma. Right or wrong, PJH is going to eventually be editing those articles. I don't want to wind up in the same kind of continuous sock-fighting battle I am with Brexx, CharlieJS13, MariaJaydHicky, and others, so I'm trying to figure out a way to let him in through the front door. I'm trying to make him at least "partially" a constructive editor, much the way Petergriffin1991 ultimately became a useful editor. All he sees now is that you revert every change he makes, and that's pretty much how it looks to others as well. How can I get that to change?—Kww(talk) 20:25, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

I'm surprised you are even letting him toward the front door after how he has been in the past on different accounts. I don't revert every single one he does, just the problematic ones and unconstructive ones. I'm sorry, but because of how he has been in the past on different accounts, and with how he has previously spoken to me, it will take a long time for me to become even slightly tolerant of his nature. He has already overstepped the mark with me with how he has spoken to me. Aaron You Da One 20:36, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
With editors that feel that strongly, blocking doesn't really work, because it relies on the blocked editor respecting the block. His situation now is that it's difficult for him to sock, so his feelings about the justness of his block don't matter. That's not going to last for long, and, if he feels completely unjustly treated, he's going to sock and make the edits, and I will wind up with yet another block evader that I wind up in a constant reversion war with. Those really are no fun. Since PJH's intentions at least seem good (he's fannish, but certainly has no desire to vandalize articles about Rihanna), it saves my time in the long run if I can make him be productive and feel at least accepted. I don't care whether he feels loved or not, but I'd like to figure out how to make him feel at least accepted by fellow editors.—Kww(talk) 20:53, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Good luck with that! Lol. Aaron You Da One 20:55, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
  • (My two cents) Personally, I'm not exactly thrilled that you've unblocked him in general, but I see your logic above in why you are trying to lead him through the front door into becoming a constructive editor. With that said, you proposed a topic block of any article related to Rihanna in an earlier discussion - I think that this would be the best solution. He would be able to learn how to edit without the constant uphill battle of trying to learn in articles that are written with such high standards (GA/FA). If he could learn somewhere else in our encyclopedia he would be given more slack and wouldn't get blocked after every 5 edits. Kww, do you think that this would be a fair solution? (It's not forever, just until he can demonstrate he is able to edit properly in the Rihanna related articles) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 01:30, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Re: Alexandra Burke discography

Following her appearance on X Factor as a guest judge, the Alexandra Burke article has been under considerable vandalism - including claims that her second studio album is entitled Okay Dot. Com. Not only is this an unrealistic title for her second studio album, but the references some users have provided are neither reliable nor confirm the title. I noticed that in a recent edit, you added Okay Dot. Com (2012) to the discography section of the article, and I ask politely that you please not - until a reliable source for it be made available. The DYK project (nominate) 08:02, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

Care to comment?

Hi. Would you like to comment here? An editor proposed to note all the tracks that the credited people on the album are on, such as: (bullet) Name - instrument/role (track #, #, #, etc.). I don't have much precendant, but the guidelines at WP:Albums show differently (Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Album_article_style_guide#Personnel) I am arguing that the editor's addition is undue. Rihanna FLC

I just have an issue with the unreleased songs section. There is no source stating that "Bubble Pop" was recorded for Rated R. Not sure why there are two sources that say the same for "Hatin". Same with "Beautiful"; not needed. Also, Bad Girl writers (should be cited in the article). You are also missing A LOT of unreleased songs: Barbed Wire, Love Is a Bitch, Tip Pon Toe, Scratch. Also are missing her released cover girl song recording, and another S&M Remix (not sure if released or not). — Status {talkcontribs 08:35, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

I didn't know about those ones you listed. It does have an incomplete tag on the article as I'm sure there are others. Aaron You Da One 20:18, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

S&M

Hi, I would suggest putting in the New Zealand chart performance in that section because the paragraph about the Austrlian chart performance is too short. That can just cover Oceania (NZ and AU). Thanks, Till I Go Home (talk) 07:15, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

I second this suggestion. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 07:17, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
Okay thanks. Aaron You Da One 10:22, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
