Control copyright icon Hello Deeflames1! Your additions to Asawase (Ghana parliament constituency) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:36, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

i think i put out the reference at the referencing side but will go back to it as said in your message n get it done Deeflames1 (talk) 19:23, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You should indeed cite your sources, but don't copy text from them. To do so is a violation of our copyright policy. — Diannaa (talk) 21:08, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just noting I've also removed content you added to Witchcraft in Ghana and Obrafour. All content you add to Wikipedia must be your own words-- please don't copy from other websites. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 22:21, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your edit to Ghana Football Association has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. I've also removed copyright-violating text that you added to Kwaw Kese with this edit. SamX [talk · contribs] 19:52, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without evidence of permission. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
please am farely new and had not been checking my talkpage, I promise to follow the guidelines and not repeat again. Please forgive boss it will not happen again Deeflames1 (talk) 19:58, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

please am a new editor in this space i have little idea about copyright articles,i promise to read the rules n gudelines of wikipedia very well so i do not repeat the mistakens i have done.i want be a wikipedia editor for a long time.kindly pardon me

Decline reason:

I would in principle be willing to give you another chance. However, you were warned about copyright at least three times that I can see before your block; so just saying "I will do better" is not enough. I will unblock you if you can explain exactly what you will do differently in the future if you are unblocked. Please note that forgiveness does not enter into the question: Wikipedia does not punish, but we block editors we cannot trust to adhere to our core policies. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I will want to assure you that the copyright violation was unintentional and I take full responsibility for not properly attributing the sources and violating Wikipedia's guidelines. I have taken this incident as an opportunity to educate myself more on the copyright policies and proper sourcing techniques so i do not not go back to doing the same silly mistakes .I promise to be in line with the community policies,I will make sure I stay true to the core values of wikipedia ~~

Decline reason:

In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:

  • What is copyright?
  • How is Wikipedia licenced?
  • Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
  • Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
  • How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?

Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 22:34, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 18:09, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please explain the huge difference in the quality and style of prose and the apparent comprehension of the English language in the above unblock request and some of your other posts on this page? For example this post and this post? Were they all written by the same person? Did you get a chatbot to help with your unblock request? — Diannaa (talk) 13:41, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock| Please am the same person that wrote all the other request for my account to be unblock. I started reading more on the copyright infringements laws. I never paid attention to the policies of Wikipedia from the onset will concentrate on typos, grammatical errors fixation and small small edits from the neutral point of view . I did not seek the help of any chatbot to aid me in my request to be unblock, I did seek clarification about what was happening to me from other editors and they told me to go and learn more on Wikipedia policies and copyright laws . Am still learning more and more about about Wikipedia policies and copyright laws, am currently taking Wikipedia online modules so i can be fully abreast with the ever changing Wikipedia platform so I can contribute very well and articulate. I will want to be a Wikipedia Editor for a long time and introduce others to be a part of this great family. I have learnt my lessons in a hard way and will not do anything to degrade the good name Wikipedia has and will make meaningful contribution to Wikipedia ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~

Your unblock request is improperly formatted, so it won't be reviewed by an admin as it currently stands. I'm willing to fix it if you'd like me to, but you should know that the unblock request as currently worded has very little chance of succeeding. I understand that regaining access to my account is essential for me to resume contributing effectively and responsibly. I assure you that I am prepared to adhere to all Wikipedia policies and guidelines going forward, and I am committed to avoiding any repetition of past errors.
I kindly request your assistance and guidance in facilitating the process of regaining access to my account. I am willing to provide any necessary information or fulfill any requirements to ensure a smooth and successful resolution to this matter.
Thank you for considering my request. I appreciate your time and assistance in this regard. Deeflames1 (talk) 13:17, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
