Jillian Ward (Your revert back in November 2020)

Hello Pahunkat, and thank you for your revert on Jillian Ward last November 2020. However, please be careful in assuming problematic edits on the edit summary as there are different types of problematic ones on Wikipedia (For example, vandalism, editing tests, NPOV violation, etc). Please take look on this: diff. According to this, it says: Jhyllianne "Jillian" Wardë is a Filipino-Australian actress. Thus is a WP:BLP issue/violation. Your statement, according to your edit summary, said it is a unexplained removal of content. If we say unexplained content removal, it is a removal of content without explaining why it should be excluded. If my statement is wrong, or if you have any questions, please let me know here on your talk page or my talk page. Regards, ----Rdp060707|talk 12:56, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Rdp060707, you have brought up a revert close to 6 months ago. Whilst I cannot remember what I was thinking of at the time of the revert as a result of this, reviewing the revert now I still believe that the IP's edit constituted unexplained removal of content. I'm not sure what you are trying to say with the above, as it is indeed "a removal of content without explaining why it should be excluded". Whether it constitutes a violation of BLP is another issue, whilst the IP was blocked for disruptive editing, in part due to their conduct on BLPs, it is not an extremely blatant example in my opinion. Being a new user at the time, I expect I probably had little knowledge of BLP, and if the revert was made now I would probably give a warning for their unexplained removal of content followed by a comment about BLPs. Neither have I made any assumption that this is a bad-faith edit, and if I have done so please feel free to point it out (though no warnings were issued at the time given that I had only started editing in that period). Best, Pahunkat (talk) 19:46, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I would also add that I don't see much point in debating on this topic - this seems like a dead horse given that the revert was over 6 months ago, the edit doesn't qualify for revision deletion, and there's certainly no point in taking action against the IP when they haven't edited since December 2. Pahunkat (talk) 19:55, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Pahunkat: Oh well, that it is. Anyways, keep up the good work and happy editing! ----Rdp060707|talk 01:39, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Rdp060707, you too! Pahunkat (talk) 13:23, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blown away

Blocked but I'm totally blown away by this. Wow! --Ashleyyoursmile! 09:24, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ashleyyoursmile, nice to see you here! Normally I find a couple of NTSAMR (Nothing to say about me really) userpage spambots every day, and I record them in the log - with luck one day it may come in useful, to help in creating an edit filter for them or enabling other admins to recognise them for what they are. It's all added up to that in the end. We're lucky to have ACPERM - if you look at Special:Abuselog on Meta, you'll see that these userpage spambots very often go on to attempt to create mainspace articles in other projects. Sadly, the meta filter for userpage spam produces too many false positives on enwiki for it to be viable at the moment (I don't know what is in that filter but I brought up the issue at the edit filter noticeboard a while ago) :-) Pahunkat (talk) 09:29, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I hope this works out one day. I have huge respect for what you do here, Pahunkat. :) Ashleyyoursmile! 06:09, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Ashleyyoursmile! I often get disheartened at the attempts of people to spam Wikipedia - it's not just spambots, there are link spammers such as this one, UPEs, etc... Pahunkat (talk) 08:59, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Countervandalism training

If you're still interested in finding new students for countervandalism training, I'd be happy to work with you. I have trouble with watchlists sadly, but I do see {ping}s. Cheerful Squirrel (talk) 20:11, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Cheerful Squirrel and sorry for the delay in responding, I'd be happy to take you on - FYI my timezone is actually BST as opposed to UTC, I've forgotten to update the table. Is that alright with you? Pahunkat (talk) 19:14, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There's enough overlap that we should be okay! Cheerful Squirrel (talk) 19:28, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok Cheerful Squirrel, I've pinged you at the training page. Pahunkat (talk) 20:03, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

I just tweaked a little text - you are the one who's done the heavy lifting on Chibok schoolgirls kidnapping. Thank you very much - It's an important article IMO, and I appreciate your work on it. — Ched (talk) 12:28, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Ched, it can be sometimes disheartening to learn more about the topic but I have hope for those still missing, and others who have made it out and are starting to rebuild their lives. I also think it that this is an important article - one day I hope to get it to a GA standard, with help from the feedback in the peer review :-) Pahunkat (talk) 19:10, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sunshine

Sunshine!
Hello Pahunkat! Interstellarity (talk) has given you a bit of sunshine to brighten your day! Sunshine promotes WikiLove and hopefully it has made your day better. Spread the sunshine by adding {{subst:User:Meaghan/Sunshine}} to someone else's talk page, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. In addition, you can spread the sunshine to anyone who visits your userpage and/or talk page by adding {{User:Meaghan/Sunshine icon}}. Happy editing! Hi Pahunkat, you beat me to the CSD tagging of Draft:E Writing Champs. But the page has been deleted and the user blocked. :) How are you? How is your GAN coming along? --Ashleyyoursmile! 07:52, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ashleyyoursmile, thanks for deleting and blocking! Currently self-isolating after coming into contact with a COVID case, but should be out pretty soon. I'm beginning to wonder if I've bitten off more than I can chew with such a large article, but I'm certain that I'll get it done - as you can probably see, I've taken a two-week break from the GAN for now and will resume pretty soon - I've some ideas of what could be changed in terms of the structure now after some thinking, I'm thinking of completely merging "reactions" with aftermath and perhaps splitting the aftermath section into "rescue efforts" or similar and "aftermath". I'd like to thank you once again for contribute to the peer review - it is really helpful feedback and I just need to get the reference work done to complete the feedback (GOCE will probably come after I get the structure right). Best, Pahunkat (talk) 08:02, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Pahunkat, I hope you are able to swing back into action fast so that we can have a blast! ;) Honestly, you have done an amazing job with such a large article. I am sure it would work out well. :) Also, please try to get someone else to comment on the PR since my comments do not address the subject matter. Ashleyyoursmile! 08:14, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ashleyyoursmile, will do! Watch this space... Pahunkat (talk) 11:31, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:John Maple (furniture maker)

Thanks for your comment. I use Familysearch because it is free for readers who want to check my sources. I subscribe to Find-my-Past, but I assumed that wouldn't be allowed as a source because it requires a subscription. Is this the reason why this article has twice been put into drafts by another user, stating that my sources aren't good enough?Furnival (talk) 09:53, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Simon Edwards Esq, you should be able to use any source, even if it requires a subscription/is behind a paywall. However, findmypast also appears to be a generally unreliable source (I'm using a script that highlights depreciated/unreliable sources so I can quickly tell). I won't comment on the rest of the sources/notability, but just be aware that they won't contribute to satisfying the notability criteria - if you can find another more reliable source then replace the ones already on the draft. I'd recommend reading the criteria above - good luck on the rest of the article! Pahunkat (talk) 10:01, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

When I use Findmypast I always look at the scanned original of the Census or birth/marriage/death documents. I don't rely on their handwriting software. With regards the notability of John Maple, he founded Maple & Co which became the largest furniture retailer and manufacturer in England. It was the IKEA of its day - in 1900 most households would have had one or more pieces of Maple's furniture. It is true that his son massively expanded the business from the original premises, but my brief article outlines how the business was created and about its creator. How is he not notable? I do appreciate your interest and thanks for the tips. Furnival (talk) 10:37, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Simon Edwards Esq, as I've said before I'm not going to comment on the overall notability of the subject. Just a note that things like Birth/death certificates don't establish notability - the other sources I haven't assessed. Best, Pahunkat (talk) 11:29, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(talk), I quite agree, birth/death records are mainly to confirm identity, and certainly not a measure of notability, or we would all be famous! Furnival (talk) 11:47, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve replied your mail. Celestina007 (talk) 21:53, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've just read the email Celestina007, thank you for the advice - I'll do my best given that I haven't dealt with such a situation before. Best, Pahunkat (talk) 08:26, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Revert on my talk page

Hi - I understand your intention was perfectly in good faith, but there's a few good reasons not to have actually reverted the edit. First, it's etiquette of sorts not to edit another's contributions in talk pages unless there is an egregious breach (eg. threats, attempts at outing etc). Second, if it is the case that this is a sockpuppet, then it is better to strike the contribution. Third, if this is a case of inappropriate canvassing (and to be honest, I'm not certain it is at first glance since the user has sought opinion from a number of editors who frequent AfD: [1]) it is better to leave evidence of canvassing visible, for others to easily see, rather than having to dig deep through page histories. Anyway, just my two centimes, happy editing and regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 09:48, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Goldsztajn, unfortunately the person is a serial block-evader and given the large amount of talk pages targeted it would have been too time consuming to strike through every message so I reverted their edits under WP:BRV, BANEVASION - note that a script was used to revert. I've got no problem in you reverting the revert - if a user wants to let the message stand then they can revert me too. Best, Pahunkat (talk) 10:28, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You guys haven’t reviewed Draft:Jellyfish Pictures. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 23:04, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

BMA-Nation2020, we are all volunteers here and nobody is required to do anything. Note that some drafts are waiting about 3 months to be reviewed. As a matter of fact, I tend not to review the same AFC submission twice in a row. Please be patient, other reviewers will get to it. Pahunkat (talk) 07:50, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You

Hi Pahunkat, I cannot thank you enough for the contribution you have done in the article Chibok schoolgirls kidnapping. I really appreciated it. Thanks Ashish Lohorung (talk) 00:30, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
