Hello @Schwede66. Sorry for the annoyance, but I was wondering if you could tell me if an article I want to create will pass the notability requirements. It's about the plane crash at Timona Park in Feilding. CAA Report and an article about it. Kiwiz1338 (talk) 05:57, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ha, I saw that you were going through a lot of articles, Prosperosity. Thanks for that but a real shame that you can't make it. I've never checked the LINZ Gazetteer against Wikidata completeness. The Kaipara Harbour is just full of the things - it frustrated me to no end that there were Wikipedia pages for rivers in the middle of the ocean!

I don't have an easy way of doing it, but what I'll often do is go section-by-section (I did the sandspit first, then worked my way down), matching them to LINZ or for streams to their mouths (sometimes tracing it in OpenStreetMap can be helpful, but is time consuming) and hope that I don't come across anything odd. So far only four odd places: one was misspelt so badly that I didn't realise what it was until later, one was a feature on a 1970s map but not in the LINZ database, one was a bay when LINZ only had the beach, and one was some old thing from an 1820s d'Urville map that has since been renamed! --Prosperosity (talk) 19:44, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
