Visa policy of Jordan
The visa policy of Jordan allows citizens of certain countries to enter Jordan without a visa.
Citizens of certain other countries may obtain either a visa on arrival or an e-Visa unless they are citizens of one of the countries for which a visa is required in advance.
All visitors must have a passport valid for at least 6 months and with 2 blank pages.
Overview
Visitors to Jordan must have a non-refundable return or circle trip tickets except for Government workers continuing to Iraq.
Citizens of Italy may enter with a national ID card or a temporary passport in lieu of a passport. Citizens of Lebanon may also enter with a national ID card in lieu of a passport.[1]

The following citizens do not require a visa to enter, reside, study, and work indefinitely in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan without any immigration requirements:
Jordanian citizens1
- Holders of a travel document issued by Jordan to stateless persons and refugees, including their wife and children with proof thereof.
1 – May enter with a Jordanian identity card or an expired Jordanian passport.
Visa exemption
Ordinary passports
Holders of ordinary passports of the following 12 countries and territories may enter Jordan without a visa for business or tourist trips for the following period:[1]

- Visa is not required for citizens of
Libya,
Syria and
Yemen only if holding a residence permit issued by a GCC Member States, Switzerland, an EEA Member states, Australia, Canada, Japan, or a Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551) issued by the USA. The residence permit should be valid for a minimum of 6 months and they must hold a non-refundable return or circle trip tickets.
- Visa is not required for citizens whose family members are citizens of Ukraine residing in Jordan.
- Visa is not required for citizens of Iraq being crew members on duty.
- Visa is not required for merchant seamen and crew members of all countries and territories except Myanmar arriving by air in order to board a ship, or if arriving by ship in order to board an aircraft, provided they are traveling on duty and are holding a Letter of Employment or Letter of Guarantee of the shipping company.
- Visa is not required for members of the US military or personnel of the Department of Defense (DoD) provided they are holding a US Military ID card (i.e. CAC card) and a travel order.
Non-ordinary passports
- Holders of diplomatic and official passports of any country (except for citizens of
Afghanistan,
Bangladesh,
Iran,
Iraq,
Laos,
Myanmar,
Republic of Congo,
Serbia) may enter without a visa for up to 3 months within any 6-month period.
- Visa is not required for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports of
Singapore for up to 3 months within any 6-month period.
- Visa is not required for holders of special passports of
Russia for a maximum stay of 60 days.
- Visa is not required for passengers with an 'Investor Card' with category A or B.
- Visa is not required for holders of a UN Laissez-Passer issued by the
United Nations and their family members provided they are traveling on duty and are holding a security clearance issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Interior.
Visa on arrival
Citizens of countries and territories other than the following listed below and the countries and territories whose citizens are visa-exempt may obtain a visa on arrival for 30 days for 40 JOD. Extension of stay is possible for up to 60 days.
Visa on arrival are not issued to holders of emergency, temporary, or ordinary passports issued by the following countries and territories:[1]

1 - visa on arrival only if holding a residence permit issued by GCC Member States, any EU member states, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland or a Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551) issued by the USA. The residence permit should be valid for a minimum of 6 months and they must hold a non-refundable return or circle trip tickets.
2 - visa on arrival if traveling for medical treatment for female or male older than 50 years and younger than 15 years.
3 - visa on arrival if holding a residence permit issued by a country whose citizens can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 2 months. residence permit valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date.
There are special visa on arrival rules for citizens of the following countries and territories:
Morocco – For women between the ages of 17 and 35, prior approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs is required. All other citizens are eligible for a visa on arrival.[1]
Sri Lanka – visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 2 months provided traveling on Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) and are holding hotel reservation in a 3 to 5 star hotel and an official documents confirming business or official delegate status.
- Accompanying staff (housemaids, drivers), traveling with their employer, may obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 3 months, but this is not applicable for holders of ordinary passports of Libya, Myanmar, Syria and Yemen.
- Visa on arrival for holders of an Interpol passport provided they are traveling on duty. The Interpol office in Amman must be notified prior to departure.
Electronic visa (e-Visa)
Foreign citizens may also obtain an e-Visa (except for citizens of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Republic of Congo, Iran, Laos, Libya, Nigeria, Syria and Yemen).[2]

Citizens of the following countries must apply for a visa at a Jordanian embassy or consulate:
Transit
A transit visa is not required if holding a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 48 hours.
