Waseda University Senior High School (早稲田大学高等学院, Waseda Daigaku Kōtō Gakuin), abbreviated as Gakuin (学院, Galiom), is one of the top high schools in Japan and it is located in Tokyo. Founded in 1920 as the high school attached to [Waseda University], the institution is famous for that most of students can go on to "Waseda University" after graduating. Also, it is known for its liberal climate symbolized by the motto "independence of learning" (学問の独立, gakumon-no-dokuritsu).[citation needed] , which is the same motto as Waseda University.
