"Where Were You Last Night" is a 1989 single and song performed by Swedish singer Ankie Bagger from the 1989 album Where Were You Last Night. The song was written by Norell Oson Bard.

Chart performance

The song entered Swedish Trackslistan on 11 November 1989 and stayed on the chart for 6 weeks peaking at #4.

"夜にはぐれて (Where Were You Last Night)" (aka "Yoru ni Hagurete (Where Were You Last Night)") was Wink's eighth single. It was released in July 1990 with a CD catalog number PSDR-1010, and cassette tape catalog number PSSR-1010.

This was a cover originally sung by Ankie Bagger.

Cover versions

"Where Were You Last Night" has been covered by Nightwish and Wink. The song was also performed by former Nightwish lead vocalist Tarja Turunen on her live album Act I : Live in Rosario.

A Swedish version, with lyrics by Keith Almgren, called "Var va du inatt" (eng. "Where were you tonight") has been recorded by Micke Ahlgrens on the album "Röd är kärlekens färg" 1991.

The intro riff in "White Death" by Sabaton, has borrowed the melody from "Where Were You Last Night". The song appears on Coat of Arms (2010).[1]

That melody was also used by Krypteria in the song called "Always and Forever" from In Medias Res (2005) album.
