DescriptionCoat of arms of Botoșani County in the Socialist Rep. of Romania.svg
English: Coat of arms of Botoșani County during the Socialist Republic of Romania. Running peasant (reproducing a work by Octav Băncilă) stands for the 1907 peasant revolt, which was centered on Botoșani. "Industrial development" is illustrated with cog and factory. Scythe is from the traditional (pre- and post-communist) arms, with added wheat bundle. The remaining symbols stand for three Botoșani natives with cultural achievements: poet Mihai Eminescu (five-pointed star); musician George Enescu (violin); historian Nicolae Iorga (open book).
