Français : Moutons de Soay utilisés par la ville de Lille pour la gestion restauratoire de la végétation couvrant le sommet d'une partie des fortifications (citadelle de Lille, construite par Vauban). Ce petit mouton, léger et rustique, très à l'aise sur les pentes remplace idéalement les engins mécaniques. Il joue aussi un rôle de corridor écologique ambulant en transportant des graines et propagules dans son pelage, son tube digestif et sous ses sabots.
English: Soay Sheep used by the city of Lille for Ecological Management of the vegetation covering the top part of the fortifications ot the Lille's citadel (built by Vauban). This little sheep, light and rustic, very comfortable on the slopes ideally replaces the mechanical equipment. It also plays a role in ecological corridor street carrying seeds and propagules in his coat, his digestive tract and under his hooves. |
