English: Soviet soldiers taking down a Nazi sign in Austria
  • Photo taken in Allied-occupied Austria at the end of World War (allegdly on 19 April 1945):
    • A Red Army soldier is using a rod or stick to break loose and take down an enamel wall sign with the "eagle-and-swastika" emblem (Parteiadler, "party eagle") of the German Nazi Party (NSDAP) outside a local party office in Lockenhaus (Ortsgruppe Lockenhaus).
    • Another Soviet soldier, seen from behind, is watching.
    • Both soldiers are uniformed in ushanka fur caps and greatcoats (warm overcoats), one of them with a flat pouch (canvas map case?) etc. attached to his leather waist belt.
    • The front page of Front und Heimat: Die deutsche Soldatenzeitung ("Front and Homeland: The German Soldier's Newspaper"), a propaganda newspaper of the German armed forces (Wehrmacht), is pinned up for display in a wooden wall case with the inscription Pressekasten der NSDAP ("Press case of the Nazi Party").
    • Also seen is a wooden frame around a door leading into the building.

Yevgeny Khaldei worked as a correspondent for TASS Photo Chronicle from October 25, 1936 to October 7, 1948. Information reports (including photo reports), which was created by an employee of TASS as part of that person’s official duties between July 10, 1925 and January 1, 1954, provided that it was first released in the stated period or was not released until August 3, 1993 are in the public domain in Russia according to articles 5 and 6 of Law No. 231-FZ of the Russian Federation of December 18, 2006 (the Implementation Act for Book IV of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation). This work is an information report (including photo report), which was created by an employee of TASS, ROSTA, or KarelfinTAG as part of that person’s official duties between July 10, 1925[3] and January 1, 1954, provided that it was first released in the stated period or was not released until August 3, 1993.

[1] If the author of this work was subjected to repression and rehabilitated posthumously, copyright term is counted from January 1 of the year following the year of rehabilitation.
If the work was first published after the death (posthumous rehabilitation) of the author, copyright term is counted from January 1 of the year following the year of publication, provided that the work was published within 50 years after the death of the author who died (and was not posthumously rehabilitated) before January 1, 1943, or within 70 years after the death (posthumous rehabilitation) of the author who died (rehabilitated posthumously) between January 1, 1943 years before January 1, 1954.
