Julien Bergeaud, born August 3, 1974, is a French television executive. He is general director of the Téléfoot channel from 2019 until October 2021. He has been CEO France of the SCREACH streaming platform since February 2022.

Biography[edit]

From 1992 to 1995, Julien Bergeaud was a student at HEC Paris.[1]

After having been marketing manager at TV5 between 1996 and 1999, Julien Bergeaud joined Eurosport in October 1999 as, successively, director of acquisitions and sales of sports rights, director of the antenna and programs then director of development.[2]

In 2015, he became senior vice-president of Discovery Communications, owner of Eurosport, general manager of Discovery France and sports rights for Southern Europe.[3]

In 2019, he was recruited by Mediapro to become general manager of Mediapro Sport France and create the group's French channel dedicated to Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, for which Mediapro won the rights in December 20181. In December 2020, Mediapro announced the closure of the Téléfoot channel of which he is the general director, the group and the LFP failing to reach an agreement on the renegotiation of broadcasting rights for the French Championship. The Telefoot channel ceases broadcasting on February 8, 2021.[4]

In February 2022, he was appointed CEO France for the SCREACH streaming platform, which was chosen by Amazon for the marketing of the Ligue 1 Prime Video Pass to professional customers and establishments welcoming the public (bars, hotels, restaurants, etc. ...).
