Sergiy Viktorovych Krykun (Russian: Сергей Крикун; born 22 September 1996) is a Ukrainian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or winger for Ekstraklasa club Piast Gliwice.
Early life
[edit]Krykun was born in 1996 in Ukraine. He started playing football at the age of six.[1] As a junior, he played in FK Tsuman and FK Poddubce. In 2014, he moved to Poland, where he started playing in TOP 54 Biała Podlaska. In 2015, he became a player of Podlasie Biała Podlaska.[2]
Career
[edit]In 2017, Podlasie Biała Podlaska achieved promotion to III liga.[3] In July 2017, he was transferred to Garbarnia Kraków, where he debuted on August 12, 2017, in a winning match with Siarka Tarnobrzeg (3:1). The first goal in Garbarnia was scored by him a week later, in the match with Rozwój Katowice (1:1). In season 2017/2018, he has advanced with Garbarnia to I liga. His first match there was played on July 20, 2018 with Stal Mielec (0:2). In that season he played 18 matches, scoring two goals.[4]
In season 2019/2020, he played in Resovia, where in 31 matches he scored five goals. After winning the play-off with Bytovia Bytów and Stal Rzeszów his club advanced to the I liga.[3][5]
In 2020, Krykun signed for Polish side Górnik Łęczna, he was transferred there as a free transfer. He helped the club achieve promotion in June 2021, when Górnik won the play-off with GKS Tychy and ŁKS Łódź[3][6]. He debuted in Ekstraklasa on July 24, 2021 in a match with Cracovia Kraków (1:1). In season 2021/2022 he has played 32 matches, not scoring a goal throughout the season.[7][8] In season 2021/2022 Górnik Łęczna dropped to I liga.[9]
In season 2022/2023 he scored the most goals in Górnik Łęczna (7 goals).[10][11] His contract with Górnik expired at the end of June 2023. On 7 June 2023, his transfer to Ekstraklasa club Piast Gliwice was announced, and he signed a three-year contract.[10][12]

Personal life
[edit]Krykun is the son of Viktor and Olha Krykun. He has two brothers.[14] In March 2023, he was granted Polish citizenship.[15]
