- 04:0204:02, 12 December 2023 diff hist +86 You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) Erlewine is incorrect; in no sense was this song ever considered 'new wave' by Burns, SAW, or anyone else living in the UK at the time. Synth-pop, though not as accurate a descriptor as disco, is closer, so I've added another source for it in place of the wrongly attributed 'new wave'. If disagreement persists, I am willing to discuss this further on the talk page if others will engage.

- 04:3704:37, 11 December 2023 diff hist +730 Joy Division I’m fine with just post-punk being listed, but if ‘gothic rock’ is to be included (a term which was not in use in 1979 and has only been applied to JD retrospectively) then new wave ought to be included as well, as the term which was actually used to describe JD by the contemporary Brit muso press (contrary to popular belief, ‘new wave’ was NOT a term used for 80s synthpop like New Order, but a late 70s term to describe ‘different’ sorts of punk including JD).

Weller himself, as well as critics during the 70s, consistently identified the band with the New Wave over Punk, as there were major cultural and musical differences which separated them from Punk.

Disco and guitar rock are the two main subjects in this sentence; there are "elements" of the other three genres.
