Monarchies have existed for thousands of years. There have been millions of royal weddings. The article tells us that weddings of senior members of royal families are state occasions and attract national and international interest but then goes on to list weddings of "minor" royals and medieval marriage ceremonies that definitely did not attract any media attention.
