Debatable as to whether Simon Clifford is notable (personally I don’t think he is). Wording in the article seems exaggerated at points. Manager of Garforth Town at two different stages but don’t think this is notable enough to warrant his own article. Two noted athletes graduated from his system, but if everyone was to get an article based on a couple of people graduating from their system, then there would be tons of articles. I can see an argument from people who argue that he is notable however. A merger with relevant articles could also be possible, but don’t think Clifford is notable enough for his own standalone article, which also has other problems. However, a discussion on whether it should be deleted or another option be taken is the best way to go. Fats40boy11 (talk) 08:15, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. There's any amount of independent SIGCOV of the subject from 1996 ongoing. The Daily Telegraph, May 1996, focused on Juninho, but about Brazilian soccer skills in the primary school where Clifford was teaching; also the Telegraph, Oct 1997, article by Clifford about his approach to learning soccer skills; The Guardian, Jan 1998, about a BBC NW documentary about Clifford's trip to Brazil and what came of it; When Saturday Comes, Dec 2004; also Guardian, Nov 2005, titled "Why Woodward's coach had to leave Southampton"; The Times, Mar 2006, lengthy piece that includes the sentence "It is scarcely any wonder that the BBC is making a six-part fly-on-the-wall documentary about Clifford."; i News, June 2020 (already in article); and, as mentioned above, plenty more recent stuff on Google News. As well as he founded Brazilian Soccer Schools which, according to the hype for a one-hour interview on BBC Radio Leeds in 2011, had more than 2 million children worldwide enrolled.
