QuagmireDog (talk · contribs) This isn't a request for adminship-coaching, quite the opposite. At this point in time I feel frustrated and torn. In the past few days I have been unreasonable with one contributor over a particular AFD (whilst I was unwell during a particular point, I'm still embarassed over my conduct) and then changed an article's name without seeking consultation from the appropriate wikiproject, this turned out to be incorrect. I had believed that what I was doing was right and clean-cut, only to be mortified by the very variable/debatable status of the naming conventions involved and my own interpretation of them. A lot of the edits I have made to the WP have been on the RuneScape series of articles, though I often feel strangled by the slow speed of improvement and re-repeating of discussions over minor issues. There's my grumping/embarassment. What I'm asking of reviewers is this: am I doing more harm than good? Does my editting show any particular documents which I should read? I feel stupid for asking this, but I've been pretty set on leaving the WP, but I'm struggling to stop editting because I enjoy it. Verdict? QuagmireDog 16:12, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
None, I certainly make edits but see nothing to pat myself on the back about.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Conflicts, yes, as mentioned in statement, though not edit warring and I do try to be polite and explain my reasoning. I dealt with it by backing away from the computer and coming back and looking at it again, the best way I've found. The future, well, mistakes are lessons in disguise, how other contributors react to me are also lessons in themselves. One thing I need to do is consult other parties more often, be it project members or other contributors who are interested in the same topics.
