Vwegba4real created a page, Oghenevwegba Ogedegbe, which I tagged for speedy deletion. He attempted to remove the speedy tag [1] and a bot stopped him from doing so. After a while, an account with a very similar username, Palevu4real, removed the speedy tag [2] twice [3] without explanation. The similar behavior and usernames makes me suspect sockpuppetry, despite asking Palevu to please "use only one (1) account". Palevu also attempted to blank this SPI (see below). →Bmusician 22:50, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dore Numa College Warri, half of which is about how Oghenevwegba Isaiah Ogedegbe once attended there;
  • Oghenevwegba Isaiah Ogedegbe, now salted;
  • Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Oghenevwegba Isaiah Ogedegbe's church in Nigeria
  • links between these and from other articles, e.g. [4]; compare with same link referenced with same wordpress site by blocked sockpuppet User:Ogedegbe4real [5]
  • Oghenevwegba Isaiah Ogedegbe: no undeleted edits remaining, but his self-promotional user page was re-created by User:O. I. Ogedegbe following speedy G11, and the warnings on his user talk page were blanked by blocked sockpuppet User:Ogedegbe4real.

Fufeyin made similar edits to previous, adding a poem by Oghenevwegba Isaiah OGEDEGBE and attempting to delete the notices on the userpages of the sockmaster and one of the other socks. Calculus4real made only one edit, but that was an attempt to blank the sock notice from Ogedegbe's user page. Credit to 220 of Borg who spotted these and notified me. I have deleted the poem as copyvio, but left the article Kefee Obareki Don Momoh which other editors have worked on and tidied up; it has at least one good ref, and subject may be notable. Basedonwarritimes created Pastor Isaiah Oghenevwegba Ogedegbe, i.e. the same article as previous socks have created, under a slight variation of the name since all previous names AFAIK have been SALTed, and added Ogedegbes name to articles, just like the IPs. 197.210.44.91 also deleted an AfD-discussion about a previous incarnation of the article. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 10:58, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Thomas.W: I get that you are frustrated with him getting away with things. When I say the the range is not good for a block, i'm also talking about the smaller subranges. Some ISPs hand out IPs like they are candy, and that is what is happening here. So effectively, if I block a smaller range at this point, it will do literally nothing but block innocent people. Adding a cross-wiki link on Oghara-Iyede (one of Ogedegbe's frequent targets) to an article about Isaiah Ogedegbe's blog, "Warri Times News", on the Igbo language Wikipedia, where there is an article about the blog (and an article about Isaiah Ogedegbe), but since they obviously don't know how redirects work IPs in the 197.210.0.0/16 range, which is range blocked here because of long-time massive abuse, are now creating another article about Ogedegbe's blog at ig:WTN, the cross-wiki link they added. The usual spamming of Isaiah Ogedegbe's "Warri Times Newspaper", now in the guise of "Warri Newspaper", but still with the same content, i.e. Ogedegbe "prophecies". Since the previous report was filed the new URL to Ogedegbe's blog, "warrinewspaper.wordpress.com" and any mention of "warrinewspaper" in any other form, has been blacklisted, just like "warritimes" has been for a while, preventing them from adding it, which is why they had to split it into two internal links in their edits ([30], [31]). If it's the ISP I think it is (I don't remember checking) I think it's too large and too busy - the ranges don't come up right in WHOIS, and in order to do anything effectively we'd have to block at least one entire country. It would be nice if we could just block account creation on a range, but as the settings go now that always comes with blocking anon edits, and I think that would be a net negative here. For the benefit of the new trainee: The pages linked to either include "prophecies" or other stuff by Isaiah Ogedegbe (the person behind all of this), or list Ogedegbe's name somewhere, but even if they didn't they wouldn't belong here since they're blogs, and in one case also is mainly made up of text ripped from earlier versions of Wikipedia articles (from here on en-WP). On Wikidata 102.88.71.97 have hijacked nymag.com (Q93589669) to be about a website named "Gong News". The article features a file (of debatable copyright) titled "Fashikun.jpg". The photo in question were uploaded by Ebullientman (talk · contribs) who have previously been blocked as a sock of this user. The file in question is also used on Ayodeji Olajide Fashikun. All of the images on Commons uploaded ny Oghenedoh links to Isaiah Ogedegbe Blog (blacklisted website). The blog writes on the front page "Click here to read his full biography on Wikipedia available in several languages." This heavily implies that the Wikidata hijacking were done as part of a self-promotion by the person behind this blog.
